Apetamin???

So, I've been taking this Cyproheptadine syrup called Apetamin for about two weeks. I haven't really seen any results in my body, but I guess I've been eating more. Last week, which was my first week, I got down between 2000 and 2600 calories a day. This week I started to test my body a little bit Lol, I'm eating between 3,000 to 3,400. Now I'm still if it's the Apetamin tho, because of the time I'm trying to force the calories. So, if anyone else is taking the Apetamin and feeling this way let me know lol! Happy gaining

I'm also taking Apetamin. I wasn't seeing results at first but then I started noticing that I couldn't fit certain clothes anymore. I'm trying to eat at least 3000 calories a day but its hard. But the Apetamin has helped a lot. My starting weight was 114 and as of now I'm at 130. I'm also drinking Ensure plus shakes too.2

Haha...I actually thought this was Amphetamine misspelled and was going to comment about how much Adderall helped me lose weight!0

Girl, tell me about it! It's so stressful trying to keep track of what you're eating, and then when you're done eating a big meal you realize you still have 1000 more calories to go lol. How long have you been on your weight gain journey? Do you make your own shake ?

Yea its a struggle sometimes. I started my journey in July. If I can't get my Ensure Plus shakes then I make my own. Milk, bananas, peanut butter, ice cream, and chocolate syrup...its so good! Lol-2 -

Here is a good list of high calorie foods that can help those struggling to get calories. Also, heavy weight lifting always has stimulated my appetite.1 -
Where do you get the apetamin?-2

Also this may sound like a silly question but,is it safe to take? I'm on medications for a chronic condition. Plus, does your appetite return to normal when you stop taking it?
I'm finding that as I push myself to eat more,my appetite has improved anyway. The simple truth is I just wasn't eating enough before!0 -

It's safe but during the first 3-4 days of use it's recommended not to take if you have to work, attend school or drive, because it makes you very drowsy. So, it's best to take during the weekend or when you don't have a lot of daily activities. Also, after you stop taking it your appetite does return back to your usual calorie intake, and honestly idk if you should take it with medicine, but I wouldn't recommend it. I purchase my Apetamin from transmawfoods.com1 -

Just for the first few days because it makes you really sleepy, but after that I guess your body gets immune and you can continue using while you carry on with your daily routine.-1 -

FYI, the sleepy side effect is due to it being an antihistamine. So at the very least, good for allergies. And like all drugs, there is a subset of non responders. My bigger concern, and this even applies to supplements in general, is there is no controls on quality.3 -
Is this like Periactin?? Anyone know of this?-1

Consult your doctor, or at the very least speak with a pharmacist before combining medications. Many meds interact with each other, and many interact with vitamins, supplements, and even different foods.4 -

Yup, think I'll consult with gp. Plus it doesn't seem to be available in the uk - I'd have to order from overseas and I share the concerns about quality.
Think I'll stick to what I'm doing - I'm finding that my appetite has improved anyway, since I started eating more.-1 -

Honestly, the biggest thing that stimulates my appetite is lifting heavy. I could eat a horse the day after a good lifting session.2 -

Lifting absolutely increases my appetite, so does swimming.3 -
I just ordered my first bottle and it should be coming in Friday! ill be home on the weekend so if I feel drowsy, it won't be a problem. I'm very tiny. 5 feet, 85 lbs. hoping to reach up to 100. 125 would be a dream come true. I also started drinking mass gainer protein shakes. Gonna start hitting the gym with squats and lunges since I mostly want to gain weight in my lower body area. How much pounds did you guys gain within a month? & how long does one bottle last for?-2

If you want to limit excessive fat gains, you want to minimize how aggressive you increase weight. Grant it, in the beginning, it may not be a bad thing, but once you get out of the underweight category, I would personally slow it down. Also, I would look at doing a structured program like strong curves (lower body focused), as it's design to promote muscle growth.0 -
You definitely sure it works?-2

Hey everyone! I have used Apetamine in the past and back on it now. About a year ago, I gained 10 lbs after taking 5mL per day. The bottle recommends 10mL three times a day....I was nearly in a coma I was soooo tired. I stopped taking it after I finished one bottle and of course I lost the weight.
Fast forward to this year, I decided I needed to change my eating habits altogether. I was the coffee drinker who tended to skip meals....no appetite at all. So it took nearly 9 months of consistency, but I was able to go from 103 to 108...yes, i know, that's nothing. But it was more important for me to maintain those 5lbs bc my metabolism is high and I just didn't have a good appetite.
On 9/15/16 to 9/30/16 I began Apetamine again AND on 10/1/16 hired a personal trainer. Let me tell you my belly fat was "on fleek" and I did NOT want to look 5 mos pregnant every time I ate, LOL. Because I have to work and take care of a family, I took 2 to 2.5mL of Apetamine per day. I was nervous about being too sleepy again. What it does is increase your appetite and slows down your metabolism. I take it when my appetite starts to slow down, but my daily calorie minimum is 1700cals per day. I usually hit 2000 to 2500. I train for an hour 2x per week. I'm up to 112.4lbs. My goal is 125lbs by December. I didn't want to set an unrealistic goal and get discouraged
Good luck everyone!!!-2 -
Btw....you can Google reviews and user feedback on YouTube. You can also find the ingredients easily to see what's in it .-2

Apetamin a does not slow down your metabolism (metabolism altering drugs get banned by the FDA extremely quickly as many of them have a side effect of death) but it can stimulate appetite in some people. It causes drowsiness since it's an antihistamine. And since this is an unregulated drug, if you are actually in need of a stimulant, why not talk with your doctor to get one to ensure safety. Also, if you look up thread, I have a link to gaining weight foods and strategies that may help you. Lifting heavy tends to put a lot of stress on the body, which causes an increase in hunger. Also, eating more frequently can do it in some people. And concentrating on high calorie foods will allow you to achieve your surplus easier.
I will note anecdotally, the majority of users of apetamin do have complains about how their bellies look.. many look pregnant. That is potentially due to the rapid increase in calories which causes rapid increase in fat, or it's largely possible to be genetics.
Either way, for long term success, you really want to learn what foods you will need to hit your calorie goal. In the 7 years I have been here, it's extremely rare to see a success story of people who have maintained their weight loss or weight gain when stimulants are involved.
Good luck.2 -

The best exercises for stomach are "fork put downs" and "table push aways". Gaining 21lbs in 7 months is relatively quick and because you are a female, most of that will be fat.2 -

I can vouch for that! I'm not using apetamin but have gained weight quickly-nearly 4 kgs in 7 weeks -the majority of which seems to be around my middle. Some of it is bloating due to a chronic bowel disorder but the rest of it is fat and it's not pretty! Now I'm slowing down the weight gain and doing bodyweight training but I do regret going too quickly.0
