ACV and GERD / Acid Reflux

i have a big bottle of apple cider vinegar that i use for salads. It's the first time i've bought it, and i have seen it touted for it's antacid type relief before.
Here's my question.... does it actually do anything to help GERD?
How does it work most effectively? dosage/time/frequency?
I have tried to research this myself, but all i see is blogs and anecdotal evidence. Usually from the same people who talk about "toxins" and using it for "weight loss", etc.
I am tired of living off P.P.I.s and avoiding foods. I've already made adjustments to my lifestyle, but damn if every morning i don't have the WORST reflux. If taking some ACV can actually help, i'm all for it. but before i force myself to choke it down based on pseudoscience.... what's the deal?
p.s. i've seen "take a tbs of ACV followed by a glass of water". How does this not neutralize the acid? ugh.

I don't believe any of the BS about toxins and weight loss and all the other "miracles" attributed to ACV. But if I have indigestion/acid reflux, I take a tablespoon of it diluted with about an ounce of water and it wipes it out quick. I use the Bragg's ACV with the "mother" in it - not sure if that makes any difference.
Not sure if/how it would work long-term for GERD - I don't think it would "cure" anything, but at least for me it provides quick relief in the short term. I'd liken it more to taking aspirin/ibuprofen - it'll relieve your headache, but it wouldn't cure chronic migraines.0 -

"Organic, unfiltered apple cider vinegar (like Bragg’s) also contains “mother,” strands of proteins, enzymes and friendly bacteria that give the product a murky, cobweb-like appearance."
I guess it isn't refined or filtered when it's produced?0 -

Oh! Thanks! I saw that in a jar of cider vinegar and I thought it was spoiled. Heh. Guess not.0 -
I used to have GERD every night, to the point of vomiting, and then I quit eating a heavy dinner before bed, and cut down on food portions generally, and lost weight. I don't have GERD anymore. Knock wood.2

Yep, me too. Lost 25lbs, less food at a meal and mine is 100% better! When I did have GERD bad, ACV did help.0
