Hi. My question is how many calories I eat when I weigh under 400 lbs. I don't remember how much I weigh, so, I'm estimating that I weigh about under 400 or 500 lbs or under 300 lbs. Please let me know. From Lashawn Brown

dude 300-500 is a huge range to guess at, you need to weigh yourself. Anything under 3k calories at any of those weights should have fat melt off, but you really need to know your weight for sure.

That's a major weight window.. You really should weigh yourself. But I weigh 278, and I can eat up to 2,300 calories a day. If that helps at all.

    Good input!

I am going to guess that your goal is to lose weight, OP. If that is the case, start eating at 2500 calories. That is high enough that you get plenty of nutrition but low enough that you will definitely lose weight.

Put in your age, weight, gender, height, and activity level here:

    http://www.calculator.net/calorie-calculator.html

It will tell you how many calories are needed to lose 1 or 2 lbs per week. Note that the numbers will change as you drop weight.

You really need to get an accurate weighting done. Everything is just going to be a guesstimate without it. At 500 pounds, anything below 3000 cals is going to be a deficit. At 300 lbs, anything below 2500 is going to be a deficit. It depends on how aggressive you want to be in your weight loss. I know most bathroom scales only go up to about 300 so I know it's difficult to get an accurate weigh in. See your doctor or other professional for an accurate weight.

I would say that, if you suspect you weigh over 400lb, you see a doctor regardless and ask for a thorough medical, if you haven't already.

If you already have and were weighed then, give them a call.
