I get very painful behind my shins when I walk. I've been told it is because of my extra weight. I used to run when I was in my late teens and early 20's. Now in my mid 30's. So hard to get back into it.!!!!

I had that problem, too. Sounds like shin splints. I was sedentary for years (computer games, ftw?), then decided to get in shape. Decided to start walking to school (1.3 miles one way), and for the first few weeks, I got those splints bad. I remember getting home and just falling onto my bed because of the pain. Now I run and bike, and have no problems. Keep on working at it, they'll go away eventually! Just remember to stay hydrated, and don't give up!
