Hi there, I am thinking of getting a FITBIT, the new FLEX 2 that is coming out soon. I am wondering if anyone else uses one, what they think of it- if it is accurate, etc :)

I love my Fitbit (Charge HR) and find it to be very accurate. There are many past threads for this question, you may want to try a search to get the full range of opinions.

I have the flex and I love it! I've had it for 2 years now and it's still ticking. I totally abuse mine too (I wear it in the shower and have taken it into the ocean several times, even though it is only water resistant. I think the flex2 is waterproof though!) The step count is definitely accurate.

This is a dumb question as I have seen a few different opinions regarding this- but do you find it counts your burned calories correctly?

I have been eating back all my activity adjustments since July 2015 and I have lost and maintained exactly as expected.

the fitbit charge hr (which I have) is very accurate when doing normal activity or cv yet I compare it with my polar which has a heart rate monitor and the calories are about 600 less on my fitbit as ive found it sometimes fails to find my heart rate during exercise

Keep in mind that the Flex 2 does not have a heart rate monitor so it won't be quite as accurate as the Charge HR in calculating calories. But it is the only fitbit that is water proof, so you can swim with it.

Depends on how much accuracy you need.

I just received the Charge 2 (having had the Charge HR for a few months before selling it a couple of weeks ago). I can't comment on the accuracy of the new one but found that the HR tended to under-report distance and sometimes missed steps, but not so much that mattered. All told, it was an excellent purchase and spurred me on to getting fit and keeping at it.

Yes, via the Fitbit app. Works for me.
  • I love my flex! I love it so much that I'm thinking of upgrading to one with a screen so I can get more accurate updates without opening the app- those dots are just so broad!
