So I just started the IIFYM diet about a week ago and I was wondering if anyone had any unique recipes they like to prepare (that help them meet their macros). I've particularly struggled with meeting my carbohydrate requirements and can't really think of anything besides almonds to reach my fat intake goal. Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

What do you typically eat? Eat what you like (hopefully somewhat nutritious). At a deficit.
Eat some carbs. Eat some protein. Eat some fat.
What kinds of food do you typically like to eat?

I think you may be over thinking this.

I'll usually eat egg whites, chicken, pasta, fruits and different kinds of nuts. It's just been getting kind of repetitive and I wanted to see if anyone had any unique recipes to add some variety to my meals.

For fat: why not the whole egg?

One whole egg has around 185mg of cholesterol and only about 5g of fat. My goal for cholesterol intake is 300mg so, unfortunately, eating large amounts of whole eggs would put me way over my limit.

Okay... add an avocado to breakfast.

Honestly I always thought of IIFYM as more of a philosophy than a specific diet.

Basically, if I am hitting my protein macro, and getting my fruits and veg per day, I spend my remaining calories on something less nutrient dense, like really, really good ice cream. The ice cream isn't going to undo my garden salad, and the sugar in the ice cream doesn't cancel out the fats and protein.

Looking at macros also helps me stay aware of what foods keep me full. For example, on weekends, when I run around more, I am more likely to have baked oatmeal for breakfast. Something about the carbs and protein mix keeps me going for longer than my weekday breakfast.

That being said, I only track fat, carbs, and protein. I have no pressing health reasons to track anything else. With my diet, too many fats and carbs at the end of the day is license to eat a small piece of cheesecake.

But it's been proven that dietary cholesterol has very little impact on cholesterol. Aren't they even removing it from nutrition labels?

I thought it was a philosophical approach as well. Seems it's hit the mainstream and is being reinterpreted, as often happens (Atkins as intended has a LOT of vegetables. Atkins as reinterpreted is bacon eggs and cheese).
