is 14 weeks enough time to train for a half marathon? i attempted to start with 20+ weeks to train, but i aggravated an old shin injury. but i REALLY want to run this with my husband. i already run 3-5 miles without stopping 4 days a week. i'm not looking for record time in the race, just want to finish. so is 14 weeks enough to train?

You can definitely do this. I've trained for a half marathon in 2 months before...so I think you will be fine with 14 weeks especially since you can run between 3-5 miles without stopping as it is. I trained for a full marathon in 4 months and ran it in 3:50 (first time running a marathon). As long as you are dedicated, you can do it. :) Good luck! What race do you plan on doing?

I think 14 weeks will be plenty for you. I did my first half marathon this past may and I used 16 weeks but I wasn't running AT ALL when I started and ended up walking/jogging the whole thing. Check out halhigdon.com or jeffgalloway.com. They have some training schedules you can use.

That should be enough, but you have to be careful to avoid overuse injuries as you ramp up your miles.

You're probably right on track for Higdon's novice program. Don't slow down your training to wait for the plan to catch up. Keep running and increasing your weekly ling run.
