BOOB PROBLEM

I always had larger breasts. Ive been a D cup most my life. In the past few years I gained 60+ lbs and became a DD. In the past 10 months I lost that 60 lbs but my breasts aren't getting smaller like I thought they would. I'm not a DD anymore but I'm not a D either. I'm inbetween. So I don't fit into my old bras yet.. but I'm exactly the weight i was when I did wear them. How do I get my boobs smaller?!

Your boobs are what they are.
D/DD isn't that large, either. Unless you're measuring wrong (UK 32GG here, so not so far off US sizes, and ample but not massive). Maybe you'd feel happier with them if you were properly fitted.6 -
My band size has gone down but cup size has stayed the same with weight loss. I wear different bra styles now, though. If you are in between sizes, a different brand or different style might be all you need.5

At least in UK sizes, cup size scales with back size - so a 32D boob is smaller than a 34D.
I know this makes no sense. Nothing about bras makes sense.
OP, I don't understand why you want your boobs to be smaller. DD really is not that big. If you were a G or an H and suffering back pain, maybe, but really, why is it a problem? If you're suffering discomfort, you may have entirely the wrong size or shape of bra and need a proper fitting. Most women wear the wrong size bra and you cannot believe the difference it makes until you have worn one that actually fits correctly. Night and day. I speak as one who knows (believe me when I say DD is not big).
Anyway, as you'll see stated again and again on here, "you can't spot reduce". All you can do is lose fat. Your body decides where you lose it from.4 -
Here's a useful guide you can use to see if your bra fits correctly or not -www.bravissimo.com/m/#perfectfit/ - this company specialises in bras between D cup and L cup, so they know about the challenges!0

OP, if your cup size went up as you gained weight, it should continue to decrease as you lose fat. It just may not be as quickly as you want it to, as there is no way to pick where the fat comes from. However, it does sound as if they are getting smaller and it is mostly a matter of patience right now. Breasts are often a "first place to lose" for women but certainly not for all women. For me they are one of the later places to lose.1

I'm not sure what to tell you to do to get your boobs smaller. I just wanted to say be careful what you wish for. I was a 42DDD. After losing 140 lbs, I'm now a 34C with saggy boobs I can literally roll up. I'm actually having a breast lift tomorrow to fix this issue. Good luck!10

I'm exactly the same, it's really annoying me. My band size has gone from a 36 to a 26, but my cup size is still a whopping G. They don't seem to be shrinking at all, and I wish they would. Big boobs make working out very awkward, and I have to be so careful about what I wear; I'm not into the whole, if you've got it, flaunt it, look. I find it really strange that I can lose 60 lbs and yet maintain the same breast tissue proportion.1

I joke that I have to roll mine up and tuck 'em in!0 -

They can actually be quite large depending on body size. I have a small frame so my bust looks huge compared to my waist and hips and it's awful and painful. I'm hoping they shrink down a lot but if not, I may end up with a reduction in the future.1 -
Just stay focused on losing weight and getting healthy. Your body will lose and gain where it decides to, not where you want it to. Dealing with clothing sizes sucks as you go between them. Just stick with it and focus on getting to a healthy weight and then what is, is.1

Noel_57, If you come back to this thread, can you tell me why I can't see any of the posts on your group site. Thanks, 150lbsofme0

Like others have said, you can't do anything other than continuing to lose weight or surgery. They are what they are. But I do understand. I have a large chest, in my opinion, and I don't like it. I feel like clothing is hard to fit, and working out feels bothersome with them. It's all about personal preference, and I tend to think we always want what we don't have.2

Keep in mind that if your band size has shrunk, your cup size _has_ shrunk. A 38DD means that your band measurement is 38", and your around-the-boob measurement is 43".
If you were a 44DD before you lost weight, that means your band measurement was 44", and your around-the-boob measurement was 49"
If you had gone down to a 38 inch band and your boobs hadn't changed at all, you'd actually be a 38K or so.

(To summarize, the actual volume of Boob in a 38C is not the same volume of boob in a 44C)0

You may not fit into your old bras anymore because they could old and stretched out. Bra makers suggest replacing bras every six months, or as often as you have to move from the outer hooks to the innermost hooks. This is especially true if you just throw them in the washing machine and high heat dryer. Bras ought to be hand-washed or on delicate cycle in special round laundry bags, and then hang-dried. However as a fellow 34H or 32i, understand your pain, and I know that replacing these difficult-to-find and rather expensive bras every six months is asking a lot.
If you try on a fresh bra in a nice store like Nordstrom, you might find what fits, or you might find that one brand is useless while another is just fine. I seem to be able to only wear one brand; others look awkward or bulge-y or have a gap or just ridiculous on me despite being the right size. You can also get professionally fitted at a store like this. I also strongly recommend trying to figure out your size before you try new ones on. Guessing and bras don't usually work well together.
You might also just not be the same dimensions as you used to be at that bra size. Bodies change as we age and lose/gain weight, and don't always go back to what they were. They certainly don't listen to our expectations!

D/DD isn't large until you start getting into the larger band sizes. If you have a small frame & very large bust & are having pain, it may be time to go into a proper bra store (Nordstrom's or a specialty boutique, not Victoria's Secrets) and get fitted. The cup is determined simply by subtracting the bust measurement from the actual ribcage measurement (do not add 4 inches). So a D=4" difference & a DD/E=5" difference.
A good reference on how bra sizes look at different band lengths is: http://www.brabandproject.com/
To OP, as I've lost weight, my breasts have definitely changed shape. I lost a lot of volume from the top & now I'm much more bottom heavy than I used to be. I wear a UK30HH/30J, but if I buy a full cut bra in my size I still generally will have gapping & wrinkling in the top of the cup because it doesn't suit my new shape. I have to look for lower cut bras--balconette or plunge. Getting a well fitting bra is more than just the size. It's also looking at your new shape & learning what may be a good fit for your body as it is now.0 -

"....roll up..." that was funny....but I fear that will be the case for me too. They aren't making milk anymore, and I know I don't want to be that little old lady with her lady lumps hanging at her knees...guess I better budget for my own tummy tuck and breast lift.

I'm in the same predicament as you . I'm a D/DD as well and I wish they would just shrink already.0

My entire life (well, since puberty) I was an A cup
In my late 30's I began putting some weight on....all of it in my boobs.
Delightful at first! I'd prayed for those babies forever, and now here they were!
Until they grew to a D cup.
And weight loss doesn't change them. I'll end up with stick arms, no butt and D boobs.
Thank gawd for decent sports bras.0 -

I have a hard time with this. I measure a 31 and have to buy 36 bras to fit. I've used calculators that have give me both 32 or a 36. Bra sizing can be frustrating OP, maybe a different brand like others have said. I'm lucky, I'm in a 36b, I think. I just wear sports bras. No way I can wear a 32 band.
I have found the older I am the fit is different too. Hence, why I gave up and just to athletic wear.0 -
Unfortunately you can't control where you lose it. You didn't provide any measurements of your frame, but I'll assume you are in pain - perhaps insurance could cover surgery?0
-
wait, has the OP said they're female?1
-
I am a D (small D, but not quite a C) I can actually buy a 34 C instead of 36 D and cup is a bit a bit smaller or at least how to band connects to the cups etc.. as it is enough difference to find more comfort enough to buy the 34 C.
Perhaps going to a lower band size might help.0
