From 245 to 150 in a little over a year. I sort of wish I had more fat pictures - but I avoided the camera back then. Dodger pictures, I'm the one in the sunglasses both times

I do feel like a different person. I look back when I was 250 pounds and I'm not even sure who that person is. It's sad I spent 15 years like that. Thanks so much to everyone!! I wish I had the time to respond to everyone individually - I'm just so appreciative of your encouragement. (NextPage I also like having short hair - it feels sporty ;-) )6

Woo Hoo! Amazing work! Please share how you did it. I'm especially interested in how you lost the last 20 lbs or so and whether you changed your calorie goal much. Your arms look awesome in your profile pic so you must be lifting, right?1

At first it was 100% diet. I didn't exercise at all while in a caloric deficit. The last 20 pounds was done eating maintenance calories and exercise, primarily weight training. It was SLOW... The first 80 took a year. The last 20 took about 8 months. I'd like to lose about 20 more (or get down to 20% body fat) but I know that will take a while. I'm really concentrating on building muscle. I even joined a body building group/ forum (Lee Haywards Inner Circle - totally worth the $150 per year). Thanks for your encouragement!

Right now my calorie intake is 1398 calories. When I was 250 pounds, I have no idea what it was..but when I started losing, it was 1850 for a long time. That seems high, but I was trying not to destroy my metabolism. I used my fitness pal and found out how many calories to lose 1 pound a week. Due to exercise, I lost more than that. Right now I'm losing about a pound a month, but I'm eating maintenance calories and just lifting weights. I hope that helps :-)0
