Get em out
I have two, my sons name and d.o.b on my wrist and a dream catcher on my ankle/shin.
I am wanting another two so far - arabic writing down the top portion of my spine saying "to thine own self be true" and then when I reach my goal weight I want black bird outlines, flying with the Bob Marley lyrics "none but ourselves can free our minds" on my ribcage.
All are very personal to me and I do not regret any
Here are mines!

I would have gotten initials of my kids or an angel bc of my miscarriage but I decided no more tattoos for me. I got this one done when I was 21 I think....and it hurt like hell! lol

I don't have pics to put up but I have: a tiger across my lower back, representing my husband; a skull with angel wings across my stomach, representing a period of life that I regret but that I grew from; the name "Tiger" over my heart; and 4 stars on my wrist, representing each of my kids.
I'm working on a full sleeve, which will have: a chain wrapping around my arm, with a weight on the end, representing the bondage of legalism and religion; a butterfly emerging from a cocoon, at the other end of the chain, representing freedom from all of the previous; a cross with my dad's initials; and then I'll see how much room I have left and go from there. I'm also getting the Chinese sign of the Tiger on the back of my neck.0 -

Got this while going through my divorce... It represents the wing of a phoenix, rising from the flames, and contains the Nietzsche quote "What does not kill me makes me stronger," and is appropriate because of how low I felt when my marriage was ending, and how I eventually realized I had to rise above the pain and be strong for my sons.0 -
i have six hoping for another once i get closer to my goal. my next will be a commemorative piece for my uncle ronny. he died last summer from HIV-related complications after living nearly 20 years with HIV, the last 16 or so years spent in a wheelchair with severe brain damage after he had a motorcycle accident when i was child.
i got my first tattoo when i was 19 and i was on a lot of drugs. it's a pink zebra print garter that goes around my right thigh and there's a bow in the back. i recently had the lacework re-done. the pink ribbon represents breast cancer (my mom is a survivor) and the zebra represents my lack of impulse control. i drew the tattoo myself, except for the most recent work on it.
my second tattoo was done for $20 in my dorm room -- and you can definitely tell that it's a $20 tattoo!! it's a crooked baby chick in a blue shell. my childhood nickname was chickie and my mom's name is robin, hence the shell is robin's egg blue. this tattoo is just above my left ovary and it's about the size of a ping pong ball. i drew this one myself, so even though it's crooked and messed up, i still like it, plus it's an awesome story to tell.
my third tattoo is an upside-down ampersand and question mark (&?) in the shape of a heart, behind my right ear. ever talk to a dog or cat, and it tilts its head and looks at you like "and?" ... well that's what this is about. it's behind my right ear following the superstition that when your right ear itches, you'll hear good news. i had this tattoo sort of covered up in a paisley design, but the &? is still visible. i also designed this myself.
number four is a modified honeycomb heart chakra on my sternum. my best friend has the same tattoo on the side of her ribcage. these represent a spiritual awakening/acid trip. the sanskrit word for this symbol is "anahata" which means "unstruck" or "unharmed" and the twelve petals of the flower represent lust, fraud, indecision, repentance, hope, anxiety, longing, impartiality, arrogance, incompetence, discrimination and defiance. i designed this tattoo on a bus ride up to massachussets, where i got this tattoo with my friend on her 18th birthday -- we had been waiting since she was 16.
five is an oncoming train with the lyrics "still moving regardless of stable ground" on a pink ribbon. the train is coming off the tracks. i attended college in NYC and spent a good portion of my time on the subway and commuter trains. the lyrics are from "song for kelly huckabee" by death cab for cutie, and to me, it's about living live and moving on regardless of the circumstances and environment, just keep pushing forward ... it's my most meaningful tattoo, for sure. this was my first one that i had an artist draw up for me. when i saw the stencil, i flipped out because i was so in love with it. this tattoo was done 5/16 which coincidentally is my area code (516) ... really rounds out the whole long island/nyc constant traveling theme of this tattoo.
my most recent tattoo was done last summer after a night drinking in the city with my boyfriend. we were sitting at the bar, and after the umpteenth long island iced tea, i told my boyfriend (told, not asked) that i was taking him for his first tattoo. we got matching outlines of long island, the barrier beaches, brooklyn and queens counties on our inner ankles. his is on the left, mine is on the right. i didn't draw this out, just stumbled into the tattoo shop and had the artist find a map online.
well ... now that i wrote a whole essay, i'm sorry to say that i don't know how to post images on the forum! i have a picture of the train and the garter (before the lace) on my profile.0 -
Im an Aries and got this done by my friend who is a tattoo artist(free of charge but I tossed him a 20 because I really appreciated him coming up with the design himself and stuff)

Mines on my avatar, or just look at my profile. Sadly I couldn't get it finished before coming to Cuba, so it only has about 10 hours in so far. Overall, I regret nothing when it comes to my tattoo.0

I can't figure out how to post the pic on to the site so I made it my profile pic. It's my one and only, got her on the one year anniversary of my gastric surgery. Love it, just wish I could've put her some place where I could see her.0

I don't have photos at the moment, but I have Charles Bukowski excerpts + a cricket and an anchor on each foot and 'MONSTER' on the inside of my lip.
I have many plans for more - just as soon as I can afford it.0 -
I don't regret any of mine either.... I have several...
1) a music note that goes up into a cross on the back of my right shoulder
2) a "jesus fish" on the top of my right foot
3) my wedding date on the inside of my ankle
4) chinese symbol for "twin" on the back of my neck (twin sis has the same in different colors)
5) my fave one, probably...on the front of my left shoulder... see below...
It says: "Smile at the simple stuff, 'cause this road ain't long enough to miss a single turn."
and 6) just got this one on Friday, and it means the most...below...it's latin for "never again" and the purple roman numerals are my starting weight
