I said no to a mince pie. I love mince pies. But it's not going to help my weight loss!10

I work with a high school marching band, and at rehearsal on Saturday, they were being kind of mopey, so I wanted to send them for a little sprint to get their adrenaline pumping. For the first time in many years, instead of just telling them, I had them follow me, and I wasn't even winded at the end!
Also, I wrote a pair of jeans to the band competition that evening that I haven't worn in like 5 years.
Woo!29 -
I can't stop looking at my thumbs - they're so much thinner now!
I know, I'm sad. But there are so many parts of my body I dislike as I change from obese to healthy weight so to find a part that I'm happy with is a rare thing indeed . . .18 -

Wow! Just about hit my goal yesterday! Look at that 14 min 59 sec pace!!29 -
Yesterday, my little sister told me I looked skinnier and asked how much weight I have lost! She is the first one to notice my weight loss as I have been trying not to tell everyone about trying to lose.25

Well, I haven't read all 420 pages, but feel inspired! I gained 4 pounds over the last 4 days, being away from home, eating out, eating more junk than usual, attending a wedding... I COULD be wallowing in self pity right now and feeling discouraged, but instead I am ready to jump right back into healthy living because of all these inspiring and encouraging posts. Thank you!24

Buying a dress in size S. And buying a ring snuggie for my wedding ring (which doesn't work, it's rubbish, so need a better solution which will be more expensive)18

This is awesome. Actually I can't even wrap my mind around it. I probably haven't run more than 6 consecutive steps since high school (I'm 50 now) and those half a dozen were only because my ram was chasing me and my life depended on it!
I'm 215 now, down from 300. For the past 10 weeks I have been going to the gym and can do the elliptical at a pretty good clip for an hour. So I read your post and thought...maybe...is it possible I could try??? I can't even explain why I'm terrified to try. Why is so much about weight psychological?
Anyway, you have inspired me and this is why I love this thread!

Yesterday my dad noticed I have lost weight (he is truly rubbish at noticing anything...this is huge for me!)27

I just measured to start a challange and I haven measured since July and I lost an inch of my waist and 2 from hips total lost from neck hips and waist is 16.5 since may. I was getting discouraged so I'm so glad I measured!16

Not a bit stupid! NSV for sure! You are taking control - keep it up!
I had one today and another this weekend.
I was lying in bed with my hubby this weekend and he said "yep, you can really see that your belly is smaller." yeah, buddy!
But better was today, when I came to work, kind of gussied up, and a co-worker that I haven't seen in while exclaimed "Oh my God, where did you go?!? You are disappearing before my eyes!." She is a former teammate that really hasn't seen me in about 30 pounds... Lovin' it!19 -
Bit of a long one this !
Had a late night with very disturbed sleep. The alarm went off at 5am and I really did not want to get up for my bike ride.
But I did get up, had a cup of tea and set off in the pitch black. It started to rain, lightly, but I kept going, because a little rain isn't going to stop me, right?
Then I got to the hill that really is my nemesis but I made it up to the top (albeit at a very slow - read "sluggish" - rate).
The rain got heavier, and heavier, and heavier. I was freezing cold (toes and fingers especially, through my shoes and thick gloves) and getting soaked. My glasses were covered in raindrops so I was struggling to see as well. My stomach was also in a gripe, wanting breakfast.
At this point I really was ready to call it quits and go home. But I kept going as I'd reached my favourite part of the ride. By the time I'd done a third of the ride, I'd out-cycled the rain and was a bit warmer so I finished my ride.
I am so glad that I kept going as I love cycling, love the feeling it gives me and love the "after-burn" euphoria. It also improves my mood - my family certainly know if I've had to miss my cycle ride on any day Even meeting my personal rain-cloud again on the way home didn't alter the way I felt, knowing that I'd done it - gone out and stuck with it, despite everything pitching against me.
So, my NSV (if you've made it this far) is that despite everything being stacked against me and despite wanting to give up and go home to breakfast, I didn't. I kept going.48 -
New nsv today...my bra cups are a little loose at the tops!!! This bra used to be verging on too small and now before I know it I will need a smaller size. Im hoping that by then end of my weight loss journey I will go from a triple d to a d or even a c cup.21

Deadlift workout yesterday, all PRs for their rep range: 325x12, 370x5, 405x1. Felt like I had plenty left after those.15

Did a short workout today even though I haven't been feeling great, and it helped give me some energy!12

@ChavahWilson Welcome to one of the most awesome threads on the boards! Bookmark it, come back as often as you can.
It's great that you're keeping your spirits up despite your 'gain', but if it helps I'm betting most (if not all) of it isn't real weight gain at all. It's more likely to be water weight from increased sodium or something like that, from the type of food you ate over the last few days. Stick with it, and you'll soon see that extra 4lbs fall off again!10 -
Just getting home from the pool. I usually turn into a pumpkin around 9 PM, but my pool opens at that time (I know: weird), so I gave it a try. I haven't been able to exercise in about a month -- but my leg / shoulder injuries are feeling a little better so I decided to see how I'd make out for a 1/2 mile swim. All good! A little sore, but feels good to have swum.18

This is why I shop mostly at second hand stores right now - so when I've shrunk out of the new clothes at least I know they didn't cost a fortune!7
