Clothes are looser - but weight still the same?

HI just wondering what's going on? I have noticed my clothes aren't as snug as normal, and are fitting that bit better. But when I check the scales I'm weighing the same....any ideas why this is the case?

Congratulations you are changing body composition?

edited to add: In July I found where you weighed 11 stone 2 and your goal was 10. Have you been losing weight since July? You had stated that it had been 5 months and nothing with weight changed..

I checked your diary and you do not log food every day. Some weeks are more than others but those pages are blank or not filled in all the way.

Need some additional information on your your weight loss up to now, if you exercise (I saw none on the diary), and did you break "stall" in July?
  • I have the same thing. Scales showing 9st 5 but clothes looser than at 9st 3. I think it's down to more exercise and eating better things so it can only be good :)

Hi Roxie...yes I have been a bit all over the place logging food. I basically started last year Aug '15 and have been up and down ever since. From April - July I have been exercising (boot camp and yoga) but since then I went on holidays and everything fell apart - weight increased to 11stone 6 and I lost motivation.

So getting back on the wagon now, increased my daily allowance and my goal weight is 10stone. I'm doing this slowly from now on. My first approach is to try cut out snacking at night, eat cleaner and exercise more. I'll only weigh myself on Mondays from now on to keep it consistent. I find when I drink alcohol it puts the brakes on everything...but with a great social life I need to find a happy medium. Thanks for your reply, have a great day!

So you have more to lose? You're clothes are lose but the scale weight does not show losses? I guess I have to ask when was the last time you had a scale loss?

But nonetheless, water retention is huge for us women. You could have been losing fat while in a calorie deficit and those pesky day to day fluctuations and water weight can mask the scale.

I stared trending weight along with my monthly cycle. I also know that if my diet changes in regards to consuming more or less carbs, perhaps more sodium on days than others, hydration and lack there of and the two times I will actually gain water weight in the month due to hormones, and not to forget retention for muscle repair from exercise..

Keep at this.. and yes life is social :) . and I applaud you for allowing your self to enjoy your life and social activities with family and friends during weight loss. :):)
