salad...lots of raw spinach and whatever favorite toppings I could fit in 500 cals...cucumbers, tomato, olives, tuna, eggs, maybe some sour cream or plain yogurt or salsa instead of dressing...4
-
eggs & oatmeal or a bowl of chili
Anyway, that's what I had today.5 -
I would roast an entire bag of broccoli or cauliflower with some sea salt and top it with some soy sauce and some protein (for me, baked tofu or beans). Or I would have a salad of shredded cabbage dressed with some salsa and topped with protein.1
-
Grilled salmon with sauteed vegetables11

My dinners are usually no more than 500 calories. Some combination of protein (usually meat/fish, but not always), lots of vegetables, and a reasonable portion of some starch course (potatoes or sweet potatoes are my favorites, pasta is good, corn, rice, quinoa, whatever). If I'm especially low on calories or just in the mood for this, I exchange the starch for some winter squash, root vegetables, or just more vegetables. I use a little oil or butter in cooking, depending on the foods I'm preparing (usually olive oil).8

Scrambled Eggs - add in as many veggies as I can find. For 500 calories you can even add in some cheese and sausage (I like chicken apple sausage). You can do a HUGE plate of scrambled eggs for 500 calories.8

I eat 500-550 calories for dinner every night at home. The options are endless, but I cook every day.
So are you looking for quick and easy or pre-made?2 -
The same thing I eat for dinner all the time. It's rare for me to have a dinner go over about 370 calories. Dinner is also the healthiest most nutrient dense meal of my day, and that kind of stuff just seems to tend to be lower calorie. Tonight I'm making homemade chicken cordon bleu, and green beans. Gonna be all of 314 calories.2
-
I'd grill chicken or a tuna steak, roast acorn squash, steam green beans and have tons of calories left for a snack later.3
-
Spag squash with pasta sauce and 5 turkey meatballs or a massive salad with feta and chicken1
-
Spaghetti with meat sauce. Any food you want. Add up the calories.3

-
Roasted salmon with lemon & olive oil, roasted veggies (like broccoli or zucchini with onions), red potato, salad with good balsamic vinegar.1
-
Steak with onion salad and a knob of butter
Caesar salad with no crutons
Zucchini noodles with bolognese sauce and a sprinkling of Parmesan cheese
Filled savoury omelette
Sausages and beans
Grilled chicken with a green salad
Jacket potato with a filling
Stir fry
Tomato soup with a sprinkling of pasta and a boiled egg
Aubergine (eggplant) stuffed with spices and minced meat, topped with cheese and oven baked3 -

This is my dinner tonight.- 8oz of Dr Pepper (Glass bottle. My favorite. It's sold in one place where I'm from, and that's 15 miles away) 100 calories
- [1] 4oz serving of Turkey Meatloaf (90% lean ground turkey, saltines to bind, 1 egg, and topped with ketchup) 220 calories
- 1/2 cup of Idahoan Fully Loaded Bacon & Cheddar Mashed Potatoes (high in sodium, but I'm short on time today. Can't make homemade potatoes) 100 calories
- 1/2 cup of Green Beans 20 calories
All of that amounts to 440 calories. Possibly 460 calories if I use too much ketchup.

100-150g Steak, 100g baked potato, large salad. Butter on potato, dressing for the salad.
100-150g Mince and pea curry, 100g brown rice, cauliflower spiced with nutmeg, coriander and fennel.
10-12 garlic grilled prawns, 100g linguini tossed in 15g pesto, great beans.
100-150g tandoori chicken, 100g new potatoes, grilled asparagus.
I could go on and on as nearly all my dinners are between 400-600 cals but some are just boring.
ie: 100g sausage, 100g mashed potato, peas.
Cheers, h.4 -

I eat pizza for dinner. It's AMAZING how much pizza you get to eat if your order thin crust. I swear 95% of the calories are in the dough6 -
I usually eat around 500 calories for dinner. I have all kinds of different things. I log in advance and have the portion size that fits.
Tonight I'm having empanadas and a salad. Last night was chicken thighs and an orzo pasta dish with spinach and tomatoes.

Monday I had angel hair pasta with spaghetti sauce, parmesan cheese, garlic bread and salad with vinagrette dressing. It was 570 calories. I was extra hungry that day so I had 1.75 servings of pasta instead of just 1 but I could have come in under 500 if I needed to. I had pizza the other day and it was 600 calories, but I could have just had 1 piece of pizza and a big salad and it would have been under, but I wasn't at home and salad wasn't an option so I had 2 pieces. I think it is pretty easy to fit a dinner in at 500 calories. I would go for about 100 g of protien and lots of vegetables.2 -

Yeah but this always makes me think that I am paying the same price for much less food. Thin crust my kids will eat their way through a whole pizza, we have to buy twice as many, doubling the cost. Pay the same $, eat one slice each of a thick crust pizza, have leftovers for lunch the next day.2 -
Chicken breast and a huge salad.
Chicken stirfry with lots of veggies.
Shrimp, pasta a veggies
Thin crust pizza with large garden salad

My kid is three. He hasn't developed the love for holy pizza yet. I expect when he does we'll have to get him his own.

Tonight I had:
8.7 ounces of Stouffer's Signature lasagna with meat & sauce = 369 calories
1 slice whole grain white toast = 65 calories
1/2 Tbsp butter for toast = 50 calories
Glass of water = 0 calories
Total = 484 calories0 -

I wish I could do 500 calories of pizza...I only do pizza once per month...occasionally twice if my kids have been asking and have been good...I can't do it any more than that 'cuz I don't do 500 calories of pizza...pizza night is generally an eff it type of event.1
