Hey - pretty new to this and thought I would ask:

any vegans on these boards? I appreciate everyone's advice but would like to know more about how other people with a similar diet to mine are meeting their goals!

I'm not vegan but I am pescetarian. I only eat seafood. I do eat a lot of vegetarian meals though. I've recently started being a lil iron deficient but trying to eat more things with iron and I'm taking a vitamin now. Be careful with your iron intake! And welcome to MFP!!!! It's a wonderful tool :D

    Hey! Nice to meet you!

I worry about the iron thing sometimes too but I find that with stuff naturally comes fortified like certain cereals (cream of wheat is great for example) and eating lots of beans and lentils I think I'm doing alright. I probably eat more of that stuff now when I am looking for something lean but filling (a good veggie chili really keeps me going).

I really am bad with taking a multivitamin pill but I definitely should be taking one - prob. a good thing to do if you are restricting your calories regardless of what your diet is.

Looks like most of MFP are meat eaters if this post is any indication lol

    Hey there!
I'm on the same boat as you....it's easy to keep from eating meat and dairy compared to trying to remember to take a multivitamin. Those suckers can be big too! I've never been to concerned with my iron intake...I think I'm getting enough. Guess I should start paying more attention. Glad to meet ya though!

I'm Vegan. My diary is open, although it's not the best example of "meeting my goals" since I just started, and am still figuring out how to make my calories work the best throughout the day. I plan on doing a zig zag with my calories. The past two days were trying to stay under 1200, it didn't workout so well. But I ate way less than I used too, and I always have next week to get it right.

It seems there are not a lot of Vegans on here, a lot of people who use the term VERY loosly, as in "I'm mostly Vegan" which means they aren't Vegan at all :(
