Saxenda

I've been using Saxenda for 10 days and I'm down 4 pounds. I haven't added any exercise, mainly because I'm quite exhausted by the end of the day. The main thing I notice is that I have no appetite, at all. For breakfast I have been having a banana and coffee. Lunch today was one chicken strip (just couldn't bring myself to eat anymore) and I had a bowl of Grape Nuts for supper. If I have to eat more I will be sick.
I have had some nausea, one migraine in these 10 days (800 mg ibuprofen as soon as it started cleared it up), and increase thirst.
I am coming nowhere near 1200 calories. My main concern is that with my inability to take in calories, am I going to stop losing if my body clings even harder to the fat I'm trying to eliminate.

No need to worry about starvation mode.. But ideally you should be hitting that 1200 calorie mark. If your logging is accurate and you are using a food scale to weigh ALL of your food, then try and add some calorie dense foods to your diet.
Peanut Butter
Avocado's
fattier cuts of meat
Butter
Cream
Mayo
Bacon
Nothing low fat or diet- Full fat dairy- yogurt/milk/cheese.
There's a list floating around here somewhere that has a full list of calorie dense foods you could try. I'm sure someone will post it soon0 -
P.S saxenda isn't one of those fat blocking pills is it? If so, completely ignore my above recommendations which will no doubt give you explosive results0

No it's a prescription diet drug with some nasty side effects. It originally came out as Diabetes drug Victoza and they changed a few things around in the lab and it became Saxenda the diet drug. Not to be confused with Victoza it's different drug with a few of the same ingredients in them both.mollyehret1 wrote: »I've been using Saxenda for 10 days and I'm down 4 pounds. Actually you're losing muscle and fat.
I'm not sure what that last bolded line you typed actually means? You're afraid you will stop losing weight because your body will cling harder to the fat you're trying to eliminate? Frankly I think that's the least of your problems from what's you've described. It's the health of your body and the level of your exhaustion I'd be far more concerned about than losing more weight at this point.
The lbs. you're dropping aren't from the drug, it's from not eating and drinking enough fluids. Seriously please check in with your doctor. Heart issues, kidney issues, liver problems, none of that is worth dropping 10 lbs fast. It just isn't...
That's far from enough food to keep you healthy. I can see why you are feeling exhausted. Sounds like what you're on is a very very strict "diet" any weight that you drop will come right back if you don't bump up the calories.
Have you contacted the doctor that prescribed them? Are you aware of all the very serious side effects?1 -
Op, why are you taking drug to lose weight? What's your stats, height /weight? That kind of meds are preloaded with terrible side effects. I get that it was prescribed to you, but a lot of times drs are just pushing pills. How long this Saxenda has been on the market ? Is all of it worth the risk, why not just discipline and teach yourself to eat ina better way, instead of relying on meds to do it. I don't know your situation, op. So please, excuse me. You might have some medical condition that requires the drug, but if you're not, it's very doable without medication.1

I am also on Saxenda for almost 2 weeks. I also have no appetite at all, having a hard time getting down any food, but I have tried a lot of "healthy" diets and exercising but with little results, so this is why my doctor is trying this. I have not weighed yet and I go for a weigh-in in two days, so we will see.0

Nope that is not going to be a problem. The problem will be from the malnutrition damaging your overall health and the lean muscle loss. Stop doing that.0
