As @WalkerPop said, it's about being in control...not about being hungry. Many of us will do just fine all day long and then in the evenings, we end up eating stuff we may not even really want but it's there and we do it. Once we start, we just don't stop. This challenge is to help with the mindless eating that LNSnacking can create.6 -

Darn it! I was super tired and feeling hungry so i had a handful of dry pretzel sticks. Diet day 1 probably asking a bit much. Still well with my kcal target ☺️Onwards and upwards!

Goal: Eat no snacks outside of my calorie goal after dinner 6/7 nights per week. Pre-logged snacks are okay!

Late night snacking is fine as long as you're still within your deficit. It doesn't matter when you eat as long as you're not going over.
On the weekends sometimes I go over in the middle of the night and count it as breakfast the next day if i know I'm going to be sleeping in until mid day. I'm still losing.
Yes, you're right that the deficit --not the time of day -- is key.
However, the only time of day that I'm tempted to mindlessly overeat is after about 8 pm. So, for me, this challenge is about breaking that habit.
There's no quicker way for me to ruin a day's deficit eating than by sitting down with a bowl of chips at 9 pm.

The thing about this challenge is YOU get to set up your own rules. Since you work 3rd shift, you are going to bed at different times than many of us so that would just mean you decide what your cut-off time is and then just start logging it. This isn't really a competition...it's just about accountability to oneself.4 -
