Just wondering who all allows themselves cheat days? Also how often and to what extreme do you go? like is it a free for all or just one meal.....etc. I had planned on having a cheat day last weekend that ended up a whole weekend of cheating and gained back 2 lbs!

I'm not a fan personally, but I do bump up to maintenance calories on weekends, which feels good!

Probably water from sodium if that makes you feel any better...I doubt that you went 7000 calories over maintenance.

I personally think that cheat days are not a good idea. Who exactly are you cheating? A whole day of not tracking and overcompensating for restricting all week can easily erase a week's deficit. It's just not worth it.

From Friday to Sunday I mostly eat anything and as much as I like. I don't care if it's buffet or not. Everything is accounted for. My weight usually shows 1-4 lbs gained on Monday morning. By Friday morning it's reset. If you can gain fast, you can also lose as fast.

I suspect this approach (eat all I want) helps me from craving, missing anything on weekdays. I have no problem eating very light during weekday lunches.

Nope. I have a small treat every night, which fits into my calorie budget... if it takes me 100 calories over, that's okay, too. With a treat every day, I don't feel deprived and I stay on track. That way, when there's a special occasion I can make a few food choices I wouldn't ordinarily make and I don't have to feel bad about them.

I have a cheat meal every Saturday post work out. I limit it to around 1200 calories of whatever my heart desires; In-N-Out Burger, Pizza, Chinese Food, etc. This is how I keep my sanity and it gives me something to look forward to each week.

    Again, keyword is MEAL.

I never have and never will. If I want something, I find a way to fit it into my calories. If it doesn't fit? I don't eat it.

I eat what I want with in reason. My cheat days include beer, usually 1-2 x's weekly.

Nope. Doesn't work for me. I do bank calories for the weekend, though, and have a "high calorie day." I log it.

I've heard of cheat meals... when did they turn into cheat days? And why cheat anyway? If I know I'm going out once night or I want to have a special dinner I plan for it days ahead of time and balance out my calories for the week. No need to cheat.

well considering you can't gain or lose fat that rapidly...they're right.

Personally, I don't have cheat days or meals or whatever...I just live my life...most of the time I eat really well...occasionally I like to have pizza...sometimes I'm sure I'm over calories...sometimes I'm under...sometimes I just want to go to a BBQ and enjoy myself and drink some suds...I don't consider these things cheating...cheating implies that you're inherently doing something wrong...I just live life...a good, healthy life.

I have a day that some people, if they looked at it without context, would appear to be a cheat day, but technically it's not. I average my calories over the week and not by the individual day. For example, this Friday is a friend's birthday so I've pulled 200 calories from the six days prior and I've thrown them onto Friday. So that day I have an extra, 1200 calories, but when the math averages out for the week, I'm still at my normal deficit. I've lost 110 lbs doing this since last July so my math must be correct. It keeps me sane.
