If it helps you eat at a calorie deficit ......then yes. It's a good fit for many people.

I have. The first time I did IF was about 6 years ago, before the mad popularity it has now. I like it because it's easy. You pick a window to eat, eat your calories while the window is open. Once the window is closed, drink some water or go find something to keep busy. My eating window is 12p-8p.
I'm 51/f, postmenopausal 5'6" and started 9/26.
September 26th weight: 191
October 3rd weight: 183
October 10th weight: 181
Disclaimer: FOR MEEEEEE
My goal is 160 by 1/8/17 for an overseas trip i'm taking. When I get back, i'm going back to my 5x5 Stronglifts and eating at maintenance (1800-2000)
I weight train 4x a week, approx. 40 min. session (I train fasted, it gives me more focus and energy)
I do HIIT 3x a week
I walk 3.1 miles (dog walking pace) after work sometimes (one of those things to keep me busy, usually listen to music or the news)
I eat anywhere between 1600-1800 calories a day. I drink a lot of water. No sugar, no dairy, no processed.
It took me about a week to get adjusted. I will admit, the first couple nights I sat on the couch watching tv past 8pm (when the window was closed) I felt like crying because I was so USED to snacking out on the regular.
Now I get up and go do something.
Hope this helps.

I prefer IF to eating at a daily deficit. I was at 1200 calories a day and hit a plateau I could not break for months. I changed over to IF, with fasting two days/week and 500 calories allowed on those fasting days. The non fast days I could eat up to 2000. I immediately broke through my plateau and dropped 25 more lbs to go beyond my goal weight by 10 lbs. Don't gasp - I set my goal weight too high because I thought I could never reach where I really wanted to be. I did not eat back exercise calories on my fast days. I ate my 500 calories at dinner, and drank lots of non calorie fluids during the day - primarily water. This was just easier for me and I did not feel as deprived as I did with daily calorie restriction.3

I'm trying IF. I just started yesterday. I'm trying the 1pm - 9pm window. I noticed today that I'm not hungry. It's after 1 pm and I haven't eaten yet. I just got a small stomach growl, but nothing major. It's so strange how fasting seems to decrease appetite.0

I intermittantly IF - mostly because I'm not usually hungry in the morning. So I eat most days between 11-5pm. It seems to help me with hunger but that maybe because I can have bigger lunch and dinner portions.
Oddly enough my favorite meal to eat out is breakfast tho:).0 -
I've just started this, though honestly I've done it most of my life inadvertently. It works best with my natural habits, I just never knew there was a name for it. I do 20/4 and my window is 6-10pm. But I also eat at a deficit.0
