Managed week 5 day 3 tonight.....20 minutes solid running at 5.2 mph. Absolutely pleased as I never thought I could run nearly 2 miles in one go!!

Looking forward to starting week 6!!

I think thats great. good luck. I abandoned c25k at that point and just started running for progressively longer times and distances. Once I was mentally over that 20 minute hurtle I realized there wasn't a big difference between 20 and 30 minutes.

I used this program this summer and managed my first 5k in August! I strongly reccomend sticking with it-- you'll feel so great when you do, and you're already past the halfway point!

well done!!! It really is a good programme - for me I started it with an idea of getting a bit fitter, but it turns out I quite like hurtling at speed through woods and rocky trails, and just can't wait to keep going further and further.

what are your plans after you get to the end of this?????

I haven't thought about getting to the end....just taking it a day at a time!! I guess i'll just keep going and aim for 10K!!

excellent - I didn't have any plans for when I finished, nor any races lined up. In fact, to date I haven't done a single 5k race but I have done 7.5k and 10k and am now aiming for a half marathon.

I see many people do c25k and then just try and get faster at that, but personally I think it better to keep going a bit further which increases the endurance and eventually will make your 5k time faster anyway. I haven't done a Bridgeto10k schedule myself but hear good things about it (I try and do a 40 minute run twice a week and a long run, adding around 10% mileage) at weekends where I can).

welcome to the running world (I've only been here a year myself)
