How to log calories for strength training?

Is there any way to log calories for strength workouts? My cardio workouts allow me to increase calorie intake from food during the day but when I enter my strength exercises they don't add anything to my calories burned from exercise. Is there a way to add calories for this? Or is that not something you add calories for? Thanks!

Strength training is not a big calorie burner and so hard to estimate. But for an estimate, you can log it under cardiovascular.

The calorie burn is not as impressive as we would all like to think. There is no effective way to prove calories burned for strength training so if you must log just enter 1 for calories.

I think you gals need some more research on strength training..... I burn about 550-750 training for 60min.... I use heavy weights with higher repetitions and 40 seconds rest in between sets. When doing cardio the moment you stop your cardio so does your calorie burning, doing strength training you can burn up to 36hours after training... Your body is burning and building at the same time with resistance.

There is an entry under cardio for strength training. For me, it provides a reasonable looking number, based on the fit analysis I do on expected weight vs actual weight. To make sure I avoid overestimating, I log several entries for this to measure the first set to last set, this so I don't include time setting up and taking down weights for an exercise.

Nope. sorry - this is largely false. One of the many personal trainers here can point you to some better research.

The great thing about strength training is it helps "shape" our weight loss results. Strength training while eating at a deficit helps us keep existing lean muscle mass, that means a higher% of fat loss. "Building" muscle at a deficit is highly unlikely.
