Just started a week ago with my food journal. by 5pm I am still left with 560 calories to still consumed. I am not sure what I am doing wrong because if I eat something else then I would go over my limit in fat% and protein%, I choose not to eat any thing. any suggestion.

If you are using the MFP default settings for your macros, maybe going over the fat and protein is OK because they should be viewed as minimums.

    Are you hungry? Then eat.

It's okay to exceed your macro settings if you are hungry.

If you don't want to eat a lot, have something calorie dense such as avocado, nuts, cheese, or peanut butter.

If you aren't hungry, I wouldn't worry about it. If you're hungry, have a snack that stays within your calories...it's okay to go over your macro goal!

Are you on MFP for weight loss, or for some other health reason?

The basic principal here is Calorie Deficit, and revolves around Calories In and Calories Out. The other items on the chart don't matter as much, unless you have other goals or need to deal with other issues.

Thanks for the input, I really appreciate them. I don't feel hungry but I am not loosing any weight that is why I started logging what am eating. my current calorie goal is 1200, I am 51 years old and weigh 169 so far I have only lost 1 pounds in three weeks, my fitbid shows that my fat% has increased by 1%. my goal is to loose weight. every day I go to the gym doing circuit training, Zumba or using treadmill or elliptical.

Can I ask if you are using a food scale to measure your food? Reason I ask is that if you have 500 calories at the end of the day and you're not hungry, that means you consumed 700 calories and that's quite a low amount. If you aren't losing weight, you aren't being accurate.

The exercise may cause water retention, especially if its new activity.

the number of grams of proteins carbs and fat aren't limits, you can go over them. Your goal is your calorie amount, you should aim to (on average) get as close as that as you can. If you eat more protein or more carbs or more fat to do so and end the day satisfied it doesn't matter.

thanks for the input, I am not using a scale, most of my food I scan with the app. I my will stick with my goal in my calorie amount and hope for the best, I will also look into purchasing a scale.

I rarely reach my calorie goal, usually a hundred to a hundred and fifty or so below.

if you mean the fitbit aria scale those things are highly inaccurate when it comes to body fat. ignore it.

A scale is a great tool in determining how much you're really eating. Even packaged food may be off.

You may realize you have been underestimating and that could be why your losses have slowed.

    Good luck!
