i try to remember this is a life style change and not a diet.. so yes I think if u love ice cream u should treat yourself to it.. not every night or a huge bowl but the important thing is to remember all in moderation..

makes me sad when i hear people say I cant have ice cream or anything u love ever again ... unless it is for health reason u should have something u love just do it in moderation..

    good luck on your journey.

I tend to eat something healthy with protein in it (low-fat cheese sticks, nuts, peanut butter). I have also found that I can make a Yoplait Smoothie with non-fat yogurt blend ice cream for a tasty treat after a workout day. Eating the whole package with 1/2 cup ice cream yields just over 300 calories, gives me some protein and 2 servings of fruit! AND it tastes amazing :D As far as eating your calories back when "obese", I honestly cannot answer that question. From what I understand, if you have made your daily minimum caloric intake for the day, you are good to go. Good luck!

I wouldn't eat or drink milk if you can help it. It's bad for you. Yep, BAD. It's role is to nourish baby cows, not adult humans. I would suggest switching to unsweetened almond milk.

I don't know if this is right or wrong, but this is how I have decided to handle it. I am overweight. I want to lose weight and be healthy and fit. I make sure and eat enough calories to keep myself going and to feed my body for all the exercise i am doing. I have a goal of 1600 calories a day. I don't always eat that much and sometimes I go over a little bit. I do not eat back my exercise calories at this point. But I also don't want to go to low on my calorie intake. When I get to my goal weight, I believe that I will be in weight maintenance mode and that is when I can start eating back my exercise calories. This is just my observations and opinions from my own personal experience. I am sure there will be many opinions on this subject.

    1) n i have fat stores in my body is it necessary that i eat back all of my exercise calories?like yesterday in one post i read that if u r obese then there r less chances that u go into starvation mode..please help me on this...

    1) I like to give myself a calorie range. I feel it gives me a greater chance to succeed.

(they say the slower you lose the more likely you are to keep it off.)
    a) Any how I use 1200 as my rock bottom,
    b) My MFP goal calories is my target (I don't know whether your weekly goal is: 1/2 lb/wk, 1 lb/wk , 1-1/2 lb/wk or 2 lb/wk if MFP is giving you exactly 1200 calories you should probably step back a notch )
    c) My maintain goal weight calories as the top of my range.
    d) and my maintain current weight calories as my in case of emergency safety valve (make sure you remember to recalculate this as you lose)

Any way I shoot for "b" my MFP goal. But as long as I'm between "a" and "c" I'm still losing. Even if I have a bad day and go as high as "d" I'm not gaining so no need to throw in the towel. Just regroup and pick up where I left off.

I tend to zig zag my calories 2-3 days near my target, then a day at the top of my range. I tend to even out over time. (I get anal and did a spread sheet for my 10-day totals)

If I'm always stressing odds are I'm going give up. This made it less stressful for me. and easier to stick with. Losing more slowly is not a problem. I'm in this for the long haul

    2) I TRY to get my first 1200 calories of good solid nutrition, if I still have calories left over after that, then I get a treat.

    3) Milk is show to help you lose weight. As long as it's low fat it's got a good nutrition to calorie ratio. And nutrient dense food keep you full longer.

Let's not make food the enemy if we do we'll defeat ourselves. Food is our friend, it is here to nourish and nurture us.
To make us strong and fuel our bodies so that we can do amazing things, like dance and play and swim and cartwheels. Our body is a vehicle that has to get us through life.
