What is your goto snack when hungry or bored?

If you're going to be tight on calories for the day, what is your goto snack for curbing the craving without going over on your goals?
For me, I keep skinned cucumbers slices in the fridge. I will stand them on end in the tupperware with about 1/4 in of red wine vinegar in the bottom ( so the slices are just dunked, not immersed) and peppercorn pepper on top.
When I raid the fridge, these are front and center and I will snag them up and large cup of water. This combination usually does the trick for me.
What is your goto snack or do you have one?

Anything and everything that is within my vicinity (as long as it fits my calorie goal of course).2

About the only thing I will graze on is some fresh fruit, usually blackberries. Other than that, I will have some coffee flavored Greek yogurt mixed with chocolate whey post workout or if I am a little low on calories.0

Almonds, love them!0

Almonds are little delicious salty treasures -- bless their hearts. But, OP, if you want to make them a go-to snack, measure and get really familiar with a serving size. It's exceptionally easy to blow a deficit on almonds alone.
For hunger, mix some carbs with some protein (like an apple and cottage cheese).
Boredom is more of a problem best solved by finding something to do, other than eat (walk, read, check forums, etc).
I emptied my entire work snack drawer, to the tune of 1600 calories, during a boring conference call yesterday, almonds included.1 -
Bored - unsalted sunflower seeds in the shell. Hungry - dill pickle or an apple.1

Bored no, that Is a trigger for me so I tend to stay away from foods then. I snack a ton to prevent over eating, cucumber, yogurt, babybell light cheese, triscuit thins with a laughing cow wedge, granola or just a cup of sparking water.1

When you say emptied, did you eat all the snacks?1 -
Sugar free jello, the boxed kind you make yourself. I can't stand the artificial sweetener/preservative taste in the pre-made cups. I add a little homemade whipped cream (I have that steel walled cannister and Nitro cartridges...add heavy cream, shake and walla).
2 oz. turkey lunch Meat
Hard boiled egg
Couple Tablespoons of Fage 2%0 -
Pickles, dried seaweed, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, air popped popcorn, pineapple0

I love carrots with this spinach and kale dip from Trader Joe's..I'll also eat apples with peanut butter.0

I munch on sunflower seeds a lot.0

Oh yes. A few Quest bars, Kind bar, tub of almonds, granola....I need to start taking calls from my mobile and do laps around the building.3 -
Oddly enough I eat alot of cabbage soup from the cabbage soup diet. I have never done the diet but decided once thst I would make the soup to try.. all it is is veggies and v8 juice. it really helps if I feel I NEED to eat something. a batch lasts about 2 weeks! pre make and stick in fridge and eat as needed:)0

Dark chocolate. Like in the 75-85% range. The kind that snaps.
The kind that you can use as a spoon for icecream where your measure for when to stop eating icecream is your spoon stops existing.
I also like zucchini muffins...sometimes I'll crumble one up into the icecream.1 -
I just slowly drink a protein shake. Works everytime0

I don't snack when I'm bored ... I do something when I'm bored.
Because I work full time, and take a university course, and I'm training for cycling events, and I've got a long list of projects I want to do ... I'm rarely bored.
When I want a bit of a snack I have two options:
1) Have cup-a-soup or something fairly low in calories.
2) Exercise so I can eat more.1 -
Popcorn. Air Popped. I can get a giant bowl (5 cups popped) for right around 100 calories. If I'm really tight on calories (or out) I will half it and if I have a little more to spare I add in a few dark chocolate chips. Either is a great snack.2

I haven't been bored since I was a teenager. Eating is not a form of amusement.... ever.
When I am hungry and low on calories I go for pickles. I always have a jar of them on hand. If I truly am very hungry I just allow myself to go over my goal a little and have popcorn. 2 slices of the 40 calorie wheat bread, toasted with a tiny bit of butter or peanut butter makes a good snack too.0 -
