Protein powder

My personal trainer has told me I need to increase my protein intake, and has suggested protein powder. Unfortunately, the one he got for me is so overpowering, it overrides the taste of my strawberry smoothie in the AM, I MIGHT be able to drink it if I dumped chocolate syrup in it(it's vanilla bean), but that kinda negates dieting.
Anyone have a suggestion of a plain, no taste powder I can mix in a smoothie?
Thanks!

Myprotein makes unflavored versions of their lines, including whey, casein, milk, and pea proteins.0

Try Greek yogurt. Rich in protein. Add oats to your diet. And make peanut butter spread sandwich. You could top it up with your favorite veggies. That should suffice protein intake for a day from natural sources. Better still, try tofu and soy beans.5

Have you tried making protein fluff?0

But they all have high proportions of carbs/fats and it would seem to be vegan alternatives. The OP asked for protein powder advice.
I second @Gallowmere1984 ! Myprotein are excellent.3 -

This is also a good idea, if you can tolerate the gastro discomfort and severe carpetbombing. I use the Cumminslifter recipe of 20g casein, a can of diet soda, and 6g Xanthan gum. Makes a fluff that fills and entire standing mixer bowl for about 78 kcals, and you can add either frozen fruit or flavors extracts to it. My favorite so far was vanilla casein, 60g canned pumpkin, and 0.5 tsp pumpkin spice extract.0 -
I like the taste of the EAS Pure whey protein - 170 calories, 30g protein, only 6g carbs - just with water... Seems to help. I get the chocolate. Eas 100% Whey Protein Powder Chocolate (it's in the DB here on MFP correctly)1

6g actually seems pretty excessive to me. For 30g pro, I'd expect about 1.5g carbs at the most. What the hell are these companies putting in their powder?1 -

Ever since my protein got taken over
Their customer service has gone to pot.
A lot better bulk companies out there
Bbw, bulk powders, total protein works0 -
Now Sports Whey Isolate is what I use. The naturally unflavored kind. 110cal 25grams protein. Doesn't have any added crap. Taste like nothing to me. I can put it in smoothies, yogurt, oatmeal, pancakes, etc and I can hardly tell it's in there. I hate the way all of the flavored protein powders I've tried taste1

I'm curious as to what issues you've had. So far, all of my orders have been spot-on, and actually delivered faster than projected. Just curious as to what I should be on the lookout for in the future.0 -
It's well documented on all the
Bodybuilding forums
If you do encounter a problem their
Customer service team are extremely
Unhelpful
They also don't like admitting when their
Products are contaminated, prime example was their HBCD that had everybody projectile vomiting in the gym,
Took them forever to pull the product and admit there was a problem1 -
Bulk Supplements makes and iseloate that's high quality, tasteless and relatively cheap by apples to apples comparison:

I use the Body Fortress Whey Protein (chocolate). it actually tastes pretty good.0

JMO, but protein is so easy to get in just your diet, why bother?0

Optimum Nutrition is one of the top brands, and I think I'll be sticking with them from now on. I think its over 85% protein per scoop, which is one of the highest per-scoop ratios you can find for the price. I got the Vanilla and it tastes like cake imo, I just mix it with water in a BlenderBottle. It would probably be amazing with milk too.1

Those guys test pretty well too, though I'll admit that I haven't looked into them too much. MyPro got me hooked in with absurd sales on 2 and 5 lbs. bags of whey and casein, so it'll probably be a year or so before I need to reup my supply. I have a spare closet what's floor is entirely covered in bags of protein.
Good thing I use the stuff like crazy when not cutting. O_O0 -

My favourite is optimum nutrition, the only thing that puts me off is the sodium is a lot higher than most other brands.
Not that i'm a salt phobic, but i struggle to stay under as it is, and i get bad water retention if i go go even slightly over 2300mg0 -
PEScience tastes the best to me and have great stats. Hard to believe how relatively low cal their flavors are and how good they taste mixed with only water.0

i just bought a huge sack of whey isolate from canadian protein and think i'll be able to finish it all without getting sick of the taste. myprotein tempted me but i've heard some bad stuff as well recently.0

Thank you for your anecdotal "evidence". I have never had any issues with them and their products are still high quality and extremely competitively priced in my opinion.0 -
Your welcome
Started was using my protein when Oliver first started out, never bought from him direct over the boards though0 -

Isopure is good stuff. I just can't justify the price, especially given that I consume so much that the micros they put in their stuff are overkill.0
