Yay. you're doing great. We are the same height... and yes. 168 is our "normal" weight marker.. That is my next mini goal..and I'm ultimately wanting to get down to 150 or 155.. depending how I look. I don't want to get too skinny looking. :) Good luck on the rest of your journey.

Hi all, I've posted here before, but I officially hit my one year mark of actively trying to lose weight, so I thought I would post again! I've been counting calories and increasing my activity level since November 1st of last year, when I weighed in at 271.4 pounds. As of this week, my weight is 207.9 , over 60 pounds less than last year! I had hoped to lose a little faster, but I'm very happy with how everything has gone and I'm well on my way to my goal of 169 (a healthy BMI). My next goal is 202, which will put me into the "overweight" category (I started in the upper end of Obese Class 2, I'm 5'9.

    Height: 5'9"
    11/1/15:271.4
    11/1/16: 207.9
    GW: 169

This is a photo of me last summer at around 260-265.

This one is from the end of May at around 230.

I set my goal around 1500 a day but I also workout 3-4 times a week so I tend to go over on those days. It really depends on how quickly you want to lose and how active you are though!

I think you will appreciate the improvement in your physical health when you reach a healthy weight. Can you picture yourself running and jumping on a basketball court? That can actually happen

Also meant to say that you should be proud of yourself because many people would need bariatric surgery to lose this much weight

I guess just really sticking with it, I don't log perfectly every day but I go on mfp every day and even if I take a few a off logigng, I get right back into it. One of the reasons it's taking a e longer than others is because there are periods of time where my weight loss is not my too priority (I'm a grad student and just living life lol) so my weight slows but I don't let myself fall back into old habits. Basically, just try to make healthy choices and don't let slow progress get you down!

This is great advice. I am really going to make an effort to stick with it myself this time. You look great BTW
