Hi, when measuring the grams of a banana do I measure with the peel or without?

I don't eat bananas, but I assume it's more accurate to weigh it without the peel.

I personally weigh it without the peel, since the peel isn't being consumed.

Um. Without. Unless you eat the peel. Which would admittedly be odd.

Weigh the parts you eat. Don't include the parts you don't eat. This will be true for most foods with peels, seeds, shells, pits, etc.

When possible for fruits like Apples, peaches, pears and anything else with a core you don't eat, the best way is to measure it whole, eat it and remeasure the core and subtract the two in order to get the total you consumed. For bananas, since the peel is easy enough to remove, just peel and measure. Same with Oranges, clementines and Kiwis.

I tried weighing my Diet Coke without the bottle. But it kept making a mess all over my countertop. :/

    Bummer. Keep trying!
