Replacements for candy?

I'm really weak when it comes to candy. It's right in front of me in the office and it makes it super difficult for me to NOT eat it. Doing so I always end up exceeding my sugar and fat intake. What are some healthy alternatives that I could bring to work to snack on when the urge hits?

I allow myself a sweet treat everyday, but I wait until after dinner. Looking forward to that helps me during the day. But I understand your frustration we always have some kind of treats at work.
I bring different munchies to work - carrot sticks, cucumbers, snap peas. I know I am going to have a treat....it's just later. That way it's more controlled and not a non-stop kind of thing.6 -
Banana with a little honey and cinnamon drizzled on it. Delicious....
Give it time. Before you know it you won't even think about it when you see candy.0 -
a little less candy16

Add it into your calorie goal.6

I like the chocolate mint clif builders bar (protein bar) - you could cut one up into small pieces and keep it in a bag and eat 1 piece of that instead of candy- tastes like thin mint girl scout cookies, high in protein & fiber, lower in sugar than candy.
Dates taste like candy but have vitamins, fiber, and no refined sugar. Not exactly low calorie, but lower calorie than candy and no fat.
You could get sugar free candy. They make that. If you get the sugar free hard candies those are fat free too.
Sugar free Ricola throat lozenges
Fresh fruit
Turkey jerkey- I know that's not sweet but has lots of flavor and protein can help stave off sugar cravings. I like the teriyaki turkey jerkey, I get an organic one with minimal additives.
Carrot sticks - again not quite candy, but I find some nice raw carrots to be filling, satisfying, low calorie, full of vitamins, and nice to chew on.6 -
I have dark chocolate protein bars at my desk. I have one of those when my coworkers are eating treats.2

Chew gum...and don't let yourself to get hungry during the day so you aren't frantic to eat something NOW.7

There are a number of companies that sell xylitol based candies that are really good. Yummy Earth is about half and half. Half of what they make uses organic sugar, the other half of what they make uses xylitol (read the labels). They have hard candies and softer ones. Ice Chips is another xylitol based candy. If you need something sweet, these really hit the spot without the artificial sweetner aftertaste (I mean both brands hit the spot).0

I have a protein bar every day that is pretty close to a candy bar in flavor. I budget it into my macros and it helps my candy cravings be satisfied because it's like eating a candy bar each day. Granted, some protein bars suck flavor wise, but there are a few out there that you could mistake for a candy bar if you didn't realize it. Look for some of the baked ones.0

I also get free candy and snacks at work. At the beginning of my weight loss journey, I budgeted a little piece of candy. A Kiss is 25 calories. A Snicker's Mini is 45. I even learned that 100 calories of Snickers is better nutrition than 100 calories of Nature Valley granola. After a few weeks of dutifully eating a Kiss at work, one day I decided I didn't want it and after that I quit budgeting for it. It works.2

Not easy to do. Sugar and salt flow freely at my workplace. It's beginning to show on some of the gals figures, however when we all live together as we do, we really do not notice the changes on one another unless one does not participate. I wait until the end of the day; for my Organic Fudge Bar 90 calories, low in sugar and fat.1

Try frozen grapes. They're really good. You can put some in zip-lock bags and pop them in the freezer - or just put the whole bunch of grapes in the freezer.3

I found out that Nutella helps with a sweet tooth. It taste like Hershey's chocolate.0

It's not the end of the world to go over on sugar and fat as long as your calories are on point.4

Well, switch that sugar to fiber on my diary..
Next allow a few pieces, log those pieces and do not go back to the candy jar/bowl.. Ok to have a few, put some self control and discipline in to your plan.. Sorry but sometimes you just GFD it.3 -

Yoplait whipped Greek yogurt - vanilla cupcake flavor. Low calorie, high protein, sweet, delicious.
It's the next best thing to eating straight frosting.1 -

You might want to check the date on your jar of Nutella.5 -

I heard on the news a couple of nights ago that Nutella has more sugar than chocolate frosting (the kind of frosting in the plastic can at the grocery story).
They also said that most instant oatmeal (flavored) has more sugar than fruit loops.1 -

I was hoping I would like this.......not impressed.
I like the coconut macaroon one though0 -
These are all great options! I'm having the same issue. I quit drinking a little less than a month ago (I was a SERIOUS drinker) and my sugar cravings are out of control. I never even thought about sweets before but now they seem to be all I can think about. I have recently found muscle milk (a protein shake) and some of them are pretty good and taste sweet. It gets the sweet tooth taken care of and gives me an extra shot of protein which I really needed to increase any way. I hope you find something that works for you OP!0

Lol no it's brand new that's just how it tastes to me! But thanks lol1 -
Sugar Free Gum. If I'm chewing on something I don't think of food. If I'm not eating or drinking at work, there's gum in my mouth. I really should take out stock in Orbit.2

sometimes I'll drink about 16 oz of water and then drink a coke zero. It keeps me full for a while and it has a sweet taste.
When I actually want food, I go for a protein bar. They're like candy bars, but they do a much better job of keeping me full. My favorite ones are pure protein chocolate peanut caramel.1 -
I second the Greek yogurt recommendation (I like the strawberry cheesecake flavor, often with some PB2 mixed in). Cocoa-roasted almonds are another good one -- that's what I keep at my desk for when I'm tempted to snag candy or brownies.0

I only like sweet once in a while, so i looked at the sugar free candies & got some Werthers carmels, really good. 150 call for 5 pieces0

These kind of dilemmas are why only track my calorie and protein intake. Everything else just seemed like excess data that was not going to effect my results in any meaningful way.4 -
forgot to add that hubby loves candy so i've been getting him the hershey's minis, sugar free0
