I currently trying to take off a few lbs,13 to be exact. My problem is this, I love food. Junk food is up there. Are there any healthy snakes to keep me from falling off the wagon? Thanks for any advice.

How about just consuming less, of what you already like; to eat? If you avoid foods you like unnecessarily, you'll eventually just binge on them; cease trying to lose weight & then have 23 pounds to lose, instead of 13; by the time you try again!4

With only 13 lbs to go you likely are using a smaller deficit (250-500 cals?) and should be able to fit in some of your junk food theoughout the week. I would add a bunch of raw veggies to get a full feeling with few calories and budget in whatever you consider junk.
What are we calling junk, btw?5 -
We all love food and junk food. Search for the Oreo thread and the food porn on this site. Get a digital scale and weigh the portions of your poison which fit your calorie and macro targets. Happy losing.2

Don't try to replace crappy foods with healthier alternatives...it's like if u love papa john's pizza and make ur own healthier alternative using whole wheat bread, low fat cheese and turkey sausage at home... it just won't work... just have LESS/a REASONABLE amount of what you crave/love/favor.. also: i'm assuming u meant shakes? the higher the protein the better (more filling)... look at quest, orgain and eas (chocolate is the way to go!)... buy a blender, nut-based milk (almond, cashew, cocunut), bananas (slice and freeze them), peanut butter powder like pb2 and you're set2

Have to agree. Trying a "healthier" alternative, hating it, and then regretting having spent calories on it is not fun.0 -

I would advise giving up the snakes. That can't be good for you.
But seriously, good advice above^^^

Hey, protein is protein.
Yup. Just be careful catching them.2 -
It's all in moderation, yesterday I made nachos I weighed everything. As long as it fits into your calories and macros you will be OK! You need to make more protein snacks more filling keeps your blood sugar level less cravings! I mix it up junk/ healthy lol1

Enjoy your junk food on ONE specific "cheat" day. Moderation is key.0

Or in small portions every day. There are different ways to moderate.1 -

Ice cream donuts cake cookies brownies. All the terrible stuff0 -
I eat M&M's every night. But I make sure they fit in my calorie goal. If it looks like they're not gonna fit, I head for the gym and I MAKE them fit. It's all good.2

Ice cream has calcium. Seriously, though, I eat ice cream at least three times a week and have no problem losing weight. I just stick to the official 1/2 cup serving (at most). I also eat chocolate every day in small portions. The key is portion control.0 -

Mmm.... you had me at "ice cream".
If it fits, there's no problem eating them.1 -
If you just have a small amount to lose, it will be slow and you need to be accurate.Adjust your calorie goal and log correctly.
You don't need shakes or snakes. Ordinary food is fine. Any food will do.
Don't think about the way you eat as being on and off wagons, unhealthy food and healthy food, good and bad. Food is just food and provides nutrition. Some foods provide lots of this and less of that, but they all provides nutrition. Some foods and combinations and eating patterns affect you differently, but it is still food.
Losing weight is simple, but not necessarily easy. If you want to lose and then maintain weight, it's important that you stick to an appropriate amount of calories. You can make it easy or hard for yourself. To make it easy, do the things you need to do to not overeat - long term.
We all love food. Eating feels really good. Nothing wrong with that. Food is easily available. Junk food is very available all the time, if you let it. Pay attention to how you act around different foods. Does eating it make you crave more? Or does eating it make you satisfied? Does cutting down/out make you miss it, or does it make you stop craving it? This will tell you what to eat more often, and keep readily available, and what to eat more rarely, and keep out of reach on a daily basis.
