Unspecified persons (often in authority) who haven't a clue. / Champion of the yellow family.

    Another clue maybe?

I thought "They" for a song, but came up empty so far.

"They" is right. (Part of title).
    Versatile lady, originally from UK.

Madonna "Blonde Ambition" might have fit the artist, but she's from the US.

The Champion could be a knight if that helps anyone.

Or a "Promoter", championing this family.

IMHO she is vastly underrated as a singer and probably better known for her other talents.

Google "cheating" throws up "Offenbach," Ba-ta-clan operetta, (Bataclan venue), but no link forthcoming.

Maybe on the wrong tack altogether!

Small stream group / Joyous date of note = [band/song]

I'm listening to another AT40 countdown from 02/25/1978. I highly recommend listening to some old countdowns on the Classic American Top 40 station on iHeart Radio. It's too bad you can't backup and repeat or play on demand, but it's great. They play a countdown from the 70's followed by a countdown from the 80's and just keep alternating. Sometimes on the weekend they do the top 100 for a year or other special countdowns. Give it a listen.

Correct. Either can give us a new one.

Did anyone listen to the Classic AT40 channel on iHeart?

I sometimes go into work on the weekends and am in an office by myself.
I listen to iHeartRadio on my phone and need to remember to check out AT40,
I didn't see your post until after I got home yesterday.

I first song that comes to mind for Leon Russell is Tight Rope. Does ELO have a song with the same title?
