Does anyone else feel like they rarely see hedgehogs?

I was just thinking about it, not sure if they are nocturnal beings or just unsociable. If anyone has any hedgehog knowledge feel free to shed some light on it. I'm quite concerned.

I'm looking at one right now.2

A few weeks ago I had to drive my hubby to work and we saw 7 on one of the days1

You can buy them where I live..0

I don't usually go looking for them. I don't think they hang out in the city, for sure. Wait...there is chocolate hedgehogs???

As a person who has never seen a non-chocolate or sonic-based hedgehog, I totally agree. Although, in Australia, they are illegal to import as pets. We can't have hamsters either.
On the upside though, we do have echidna's, although you're not allowed to keep them as pets either.0 -
Oh my god. These are stinking adorable.

Well I live in England and we basically have no wildlife here except for cats dogs and horses so I thought that might of been the reason but clearly not.
They must be extinct which saddens me deeply.0 -
I used to see them in the woods when I was a child but I was hanging out in a different 'hood. There's also a chance that hedgehogs don't like adults1

I saw a bird once. I even drew a picture of it, I was so inspired. Would you like to see it?2

I hear they like to catch gold rings and fight bad guys.1

ahem. my sister lives in england and complains regularly about the hedgehog sex life going on on her compost heap.
true story. apparently the answer to 'how do hedgehogs do it' is 'very VERY loudly'. not surprising, i guess.

I've never seen a hedgehog in the wild. I don't believe they are native to North America.0

Not native to Australia ..so not seen them
Looks like you have plenty of experts willing to impart their knowledge though ..lol0 -
There are seventeen species of hedgehog in five genera, found through parts of Europe, Asia, and Africa, and in New Zealand by introduction. There are no hedgehogs native to Australia, and no living species native to the Americas (the extinct genus Amphechinus was once present in North America).

It is a very important topic, please be serious. A girl can't have any meaningful relationship until she's clear on her hedgehog values2 -

I live in England and have seen a lot of hedgehogs.where do you live?
Also, hedgehogs are primarily nocturnal, try looking in bushes during the day, just don't act sketchy when doing so.
Unless you mean the other hedgehog urban dictionary definition...then...I dunno. I heard somebody had two ribs taken out so that they could achieve it.
I live in Brighton. Can hedgehogs swim?
OK I will ask them nicely to reveal themselves before me, and then engage them in casual conversation being careful not to cause suspicion.0
