Lean Cuisine...too lean for me

Lean Cuisine doesn't satisfy my hunger. Leaves me craving for more. I wonder if there is a microwavable less than 500 calorie dinner for me and my hunger.

Have you tried these?

Healthy Choice Cafe Steamers is really good and filling. I know what you mean, I got a mac N cheese Lean Cuisine once, I was so hungry I was shaking, and when I was done with it I was still shaking4 -
You could always add your own veggies or other sides. I actually eat Lean Cuisine meals fairly often because it's easy to portion, and I'm not left with 3/4 a pizza or pan of mac n cheese that I would be tempted to finish myself.16

If I bring a Lean Cuisine or other frozen meal for lunch, I make sure I pack a salad or veggies to go with it. They aren't very filling, and are generally light on the veggies anyway. If it is low on protein, I'll bring a side of cottage cheese, boiled egg, or a 100 cal greek yogurt to help round it out.12

I like the shrimp Alfredo Over broccoli with sriacha. Not great on protein, but filling at 300 cals1
-
I second the greek yogurt suggestion. I eat Fage total 2% the extra fat in it is very satiating and at 120 calories per individual tub combined with a Lean Cuisine my lunch is still under 500 calories every day. Sometimes I also add an apple or some berries and its still about 500 calories. I find myself very full and can last the rest of the afternoon.0
-
Love them, but I get the ones that I can add veggies and canned chicken breast to, like the mac n cheese or alfredo ones. Very filling that way for under 500 calories.6
-
If you need it to be under 500 cals, why settle on Lean Cuisine?
Devour's Buffalo Chicken Mac and Cheese is my favorite. 460 satisfying cals. Trader Joe's also makes some good ones for about 400 cals.6 -
I order meals from Freshly. They have lots under 450 which is my meal limit and even more under 500. Much better quality than anything frozen at the grocery store.1
-
You could always prep your own ahead of time.6

I look for the highest protein options and then add extra veggies. You can actually search their website for highest protein or lowest sodium, etc.5 -
I find Cafe Steamers even less satisfying than Lean Cuisine. Those Fit Kitchen meals, though... *drool*1

You could eat a banana with it
I could eat lots of things with it. Veggies, for instance. Bananas would be dead last on my list of things to eat with a lean cuisine or any other frozen entrees. My point is, they don't do it for me on their own. Especially the cafe steamers. To me, they're 2nd in lack of satiety only to that Michelina's nonsense.2 -
We eat microwavable dinners similar to Lean Cuisine (only less expensive!) ... WITH a huge pile of veggies. That works for me.3

I don't know if they'd fill you up, but they may be the most delicious microwave meals I've had. I think they're filling.

I like Evol meals, they carry them at Target and a few at my grocery. They have some different options like chipotle chicken Mac n cheese or butternut squash and sage ravioli. I would compare them to Amy's.
I also buy lean cuisine and healthy choice steamers. I get precooked sliced chicken strips ( or make them myself when I'm meal prepping) and add extra chicken to the lighter meals , or get a salad from my work cafeteria to supplement.2 -

Boston Market frozen dinners taste pretty good, and there are quite a few hearty dishes under 500 calories. Adding some frozen green beans always helps too. (Keeps me from making way too many mashed potatoes and eating them all.)
Also, Stouffers regular meals are pretty good and honestly not way more calories than their Lean Cuisine options - lasagna is under 400, and you could add a substantial side salad or vegetables.2 -
Hey, you could try what I do: just put everything on a bed of lettuce. If it's a rice dish, a lasagna, or a ravioli, whatever. I am vegetarian, so my frozen "meal" is usually a veggie patty or veggie riblets -> I put them on a big bed of lettuce to make them more filling, sometimes I will also add a little vinegar (and sometimes hazelnut oil) to spread out the flavor.0

Personally, lettuce gives me cravings for cheeseburgers with mayo.8 -
I've never found a frozen meal for under 500 that was filling to me. In particular, the microwaveable stuff is like I haven't even eaten anything.
If I'm having something like that, it's because I also have enough calories to have a snack or dessert when I get hungry in the next hour or so.0 -

Amy's and Evol--these are my two go-to's as well. They cost more--but for good reason. Higher quality food with lots more protein to keep me full. And I think they are delicious. Especially the Amy's Mexican casserole bowl. Yum! Target is the best place I've found to buy them, and they often have them on sale.1 -

Cheeseburger + mayo = disgusting6 -
I always have a bag of mixed frozen vegetables (varied, depending on the meal) - I peel back the film and add an entire cup to all my frozen meals before i cook it and it helps a ton to beef it up without adding too many calories. There is always enough sauce of whatever I'm getting to cover it all.3

stouffer's mac and cheese!
tastes DELICIOUS and decent numbers (they used to be 520 calories, but went down to 420 calories - at least here in Canada).1 -

Yes, lettuce is super filling, I eat about 2-3 heads of lettuce a week, and you still have a hot meal, I never feel like it's a salad.1 -
Depending on your calorie intake needs, you may need more than a 300-500 calorie frozen meal. Just period. Although it's packaged as sort of a complete meal, what you need may be different.
Another suggestion is to be sure to have your meal with WATER, or perhaps coffee or tea. It really does make the meal feel fuller in your stomach.2
