Okay ladies,
do any of you have them, especially the running skort the athletic skirt.
I love the look, for tall skinny women, but I'm short and fat and I have to wear long compression socks and I fear that I will look like an old bird in a very very very specialist niche market film.... if ya know what I mean
So tell me about your experiences wearing them and any general thoughts about short skirts and long socks lol!!!!!!

My name is Ben, and I wholly support the running skirts movement. I'm just gonna lay down on the ground here and rest for a minute while you all run.
(Yea, I'm a little pervy....)0 -
I wear skorts ( or tennis skirts ) sometimes when I run - I prefer my tight 3/4 lenth pants though however0

I've seen them but I don't 'get' them, do they serve a purpose or is it just for modesty purposes? When I go for a run I wear running pants and I am conscious of having my bum wobbling about back there, but I just wear a longer top that covers it - problem solved
If any one in the UK is looking for one though check out Lidl, they have loads of running stuff on offer at the moment including pants, skirts, goggles, trainers, HRMs etc - I stocked up myself a few days ago0 -
I have seen the look you're talking about, ha, but honestly, I don't give a rip about fashion at races or on my runs! I think it's damn commendable to be running, period! If you want a skirt, get one! I'm thinking about getting one, myself! I saw this one lady wearing one that actually had sequins! They had built in compression shorts and were made for running. She got them off the internet, a site called Sparkle Skirts. Good luck on your journey!!0

I'm tall but not thin... never will be, as it's not how my body is built. I do have a running skirt, and I think it looks okay on me - but find it does look nicer on slimmer gals with less curves than me. I much prefer my Under Armour running capris. They cut down on leg/thigh chafe and are very flattering too. You may want to check them out instead a skirt. http://www.underarmour.com/shop/us/en/pid12035310

I really like my running skort...I still feel extremely self conscious about my body and it provides me coverage from my booty shake while I'm running...that being said, you go girl, who cares what you look like! At least you're out there and if anyone has a problem with it, it's because they are jealous that they don't have the drive you do! Athleta skorts and Under Armour skorts are super cute and comfy!0

You hit it right on the head. They should be reserved for tall skinny women with a small frame. I am between a medium and a large frame and even at my skinniest I look ridiculous because of my man calves. lol. I stick with compression capris, and scoop neck compression tanks (the boobs make up for the hideous legs thank goodness).0

Sometimes, pants are too hot, even capris. From a marathoner's perspective, you should probably be in shorts in temps of 50 degrees up. You should dress for if it were 20 degrees warmer, because that is how your body will feel. You shouldn't necessarily choose outfits, (eg pants) because of modesty. It can cause you to overheat... and that is ugly.
Running skirts do give you more modesty than many running shorts. In my opinion, they are cuter as well and come in a greater variety of styles. And some have more pockets to hide things runners inevitably need to take with them.
I am short, but I am thin. I love them. However, I know a lot of women in all shapes and sizes that wear them.0 -
I think running skirts are flattering. Try one on at the store and see how it looks on you. I think they are super cute.0

Love my skort especially now it's summer and warm, but I find the shorts bit underneath, the legs tend to ride up as I run. Can't say it really bothers me at the moment since I'm only attempting 5ks and I can pull them down when I stop to catch my breath, but over longer distances... could get annoying? I guess it depends what works for you0

see you got the image huh! I love the plaid skirts.......0 -
I try to avoid people looking at me when i am in movement, it is no Baywatch moment let me tell you, I just bought men's jogging shorts the other day because the woman's were over priced and very short. I have those legs were shorts tend to ride up so it would look like i am running in undies or something. :S Maybe this short is what i need although the short s part would ride up and it would look like i mam running in a mini.0
