Click around on that site, holds very interesting info.

This also came off that site...
How to determine your calories for the days.

Calories Count
How to figure out your daily calorie goal

There's no getting around this fundamental truth: You can't lose weight unless you burn more calories than you take in. Leslie Bonci, M.P.H., R.D., a sports nutritionist at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, recommends these formulas for figuring out your daily calorie goals. Everyone is different, but it will give you a basic idea.

Lazy-Day Calorie Goal
(use on days when you're taking it easy/not exercising):
A. Your weight, in pounds: ____
B. A x 15 = _____
C. B - 500 = _____

Busy-Day Calorie Goal
(use on days when you're active/exercising):
A. Your weight, in pounds: ____
B. A x 18 = ____
C. B - 500 = ____

» Aim for these numbers and you'll lose 1 pound per week, a weight-loss rate that's healthy and super-easy to maintain.

lol Not sure if this works for everyone. I just did my lazy day and it says I should be eating 2,050 calories a day!!!

I am eating far less than 2,050 a day now and I am not losing any weight.

So maybe this calculation isn't for everyone.

Good lord! That tells me I am supposed to eat 2245 on a lazy day! I know I have to eat a minimum of 1200 (which I do), but if I ate anything over 1400.. I would be packing on the pounds!! 1200 is minimum and 1400 is max IF it is a gym day (which is at least 5 days a week).

I can thank my thyroid for that!
  • Maybe you eat to less food to loose weight :)
  • I was looking at the site more too.. 2400 calories on a lazy day? but my profile here is 1200 to loose weight?

Who would it be useful then?

    I'm confused now.

I wish I could say that, but I maintain a high activity level, but if I go over 1400.. I gain. NOT that I would suggest less than 1400 to others, It just isn't something I can go
  • yeah, I don't think those are accurate calculations....
  • Under tools on this site you can do the same type of thing by configuring your BMR. I'd say it's pretty accurate, for me anyway.
  • Ouch, I need 1990 for a lazy day!

I eat about 1200 on a lazy day... even then I struggle!

On a busy day I will eat 1300 (which is what this site advises) plus the extra I've burnt off during excersise, which totals to about 1600?

I'm not sure how accurate that calculation is - I guess it varies from person to person. What I'm doing now is working so far though for me.
