ACL injuries are the absolute worst. I'm just thankful I don't have horrible knee problems like before.

Many broken fingers with football and rugby, but torn hamstring was the worst.

Blow out fracture to my eye orbit from a horse related injury (if you count that as sport)
Couple of screws, a titanium plate and plastic surgeon fixed me up.

Also torn my meniscus from basketball in high school.

Surprising, years of rugby and a decade in the military was kind to me..

I bought life insurance when I was 25... Le sigh..

Not all of these are exercise-related, but dislocated my left shoulder 12 times. I can't remember how many times I've dislocated or separated my right shoulder. Otherwise, sprained ankles (some really bad), scrapes, cuts, runners toe, poison ivy, and sunburns are the worst I've had. I've done well with injury prevention.

my only e.r. injury was when i was around 13. i felt a little something let go in one armpit when i was trying to be nadia comaneci and do a walkover [never could, never can]. ended up discovering i had a softball-sized abscess at the site a few weeks later.

it was like a crimean field hospital around our house till it healed completely. a stoic i'm not, or not when i was 13. one parent holding me down and the other re-stuffing the hole with eight feet of iodined gauze two or three times a day. it took quite a long time to heal, but that's as close to drama as i've ever been.

The usual assortment of muscle pulls, shin splints, (mild) tendonitis, and knee pain, all brought on by Army-based physical activity.

Oh, yeah. And a crushed testicle from a poorly-aimed (and red card-rewarded) kick by an opposing player back in 1993.

worst pain i've been in though wasn't even an injury. at least i never saw anyone about it since it began to wear off after four or five days, so i assume if i'd done something bad i would have known it.

i wiped out on black ice and took the entire force of the fall on my right hip. it happened so fast i never even took my hands off the handlebars or strained anything else with a startle reflex, because there wasn't one. i assume all i did was jam the head of my femur in the socket and probably stress or bruise the capsule tissue, but holy tooth-sweating *kitten* did that hurt for a while. i rode home with my opposite leg because i couldn't even put that foot to the ground.

believe any doctor who ever tells you 'the hip is a major joint'. my rheumatologist was always nagging me about it and i kept blowing her off, but she's right. it's a really really big joint.

Mild tear of Tibiocalcaneal ligament (idiot came under the net in volleyball and swept my ankle)
Rotator cuff tear (won the volleyball tournament, but at the expense of the shoulder)
Degenerative arthritis in knees (lots of distance running, volleyball, and recently tennis)

Most recent was another ankle sprain in January (tennis) and then a cervical 5-6 herniation with moderate cord compression (Training), which I am STILL dealing with. Grrrr....

Fortunately nothing horrible. I did hurt my back once when I was going to squat, took the barbell off the rack, and as I was stepping backwards my shoe gripped the concrete and held my foot back, twisting my back with 240 lbs on it ha ha. That's sucked.

    My list:

    Sports

Boxing: Broke nose several times, split lip where I needed 6 stitches, split eyelid where I got 4 stitches.
Gymnastics: Broke my ulna and radius. Still remember it snapping and my Dad freaking out. Lol. It was hanging there.
Netball: Patella tendon tear and later a patella tendon rupture.
Field hockey: Broke fibula and tibia and a couple of ribs. Girls had a tendency to fling the ball where the only way to minimise injury was to place your back or chest as a physical block.

    Fitness

Military Assault Course - 20ft tire wall: Lost my footing at the top turn and fell butt first all the way down. Upon landing the sheer force of my drop propelled me forward and chipped my tooth.

    Free Running: Trimalleolar fracture(left).

Worst ever? That would have to have been my field hockey injury@broken fibula and tibia. Apart from my leg turning to blubber, upon arrival at the hospital after being air lifted by our Navy to the City hospital, the Specialist on duty (did not speak English)wanted to amputate my leg without even ordering an xray. I had not cried till that moment. Gawd! Third world issues. Suffice it to say, I name dropped, pulled rank (never ever had I used my father's name) to receive the treatment my leg needed.

My worst was from playing rugby league

I was tackled around a goal post, my legs were taken one way and my body the other

My knees snapped upwards (folded the wrong way)

One knee all but completely destroyed, plate, pins and a rod holding it together now

The other fractured really badly and required a heap of screws and a plate

Needless to say, I cried like a *kitten*

Couldn't walk unassisted for over a year, got really fat and lazy

Upside. Can now run and even leg press/squat

Twisted my knee when skiing to avoid a massive collision. Ended up at high speed in a heap of snow. My knee just could not cope the change from high speed to none, while turning.
Took ages for it to get to a point where I could dance again (at the time I did a lot of ballroom dancing) and still 25 years later it is the first area in my body that says - too much.

Tore the cartilage between my abs, which left me unable to move just about anything above my waist for almost a year. That's also the year I gained almost 80 lbs :s

It banged up my knee pretty good.
