It was a couple weeks ago but you asked for a review. Since I'm trying to lower my sodium I found salt free or low salt ingredients (as in the canned stuff). With that and eating a bit of Tex-Mex for the last 20 yrs I thought it a little lacking. So I threw in some garlic and a heaping tbs of Chipotle chili pepper powder. Oh yeah!!! Also, my wife, who does not like beans even a little, said it was VERY good and she only pushed a few of the beans to the side. So I count this as a keeper for sure. Thinking next time I may throw in some bell peppers or banana peppers with it to kick it up some more.
Glad I caught this recipe. Thanks for sharing. :drinker:  :flowerforyou:0 -

WOW!!! This was awesome. I only added green bellpeppers because someone mentioned it and it sounded good. Otherwise I followed the recipe except used beans with no salt added. Trying to work on my sodium. But, this should come with a warning!! Smells your whole house up. It's hard to wait until it's done. My house smelled so yummy all day. But, I didn't snack. All I wanted was what was in the crockpot! Thanks FC it was awesome! DH liked too. I am going to take it to my churches next potluck with some chips!0

This is terrific. I used pre-cooked ground deer meat the last time I made it and it was just as good. As a matter of fact I used it for lunch several days after. YUM!!0
