Non-dairy yogurt

So I have made the decision to drastically reduce the amount of dairy I consume due to some skin issues. I am a dairy addict, I love cheese, milk, ice cream, and yogurt. I eat yogurt several times of week either as breakfast or with my lunch so it is the biggest challenge for me.

I want to find some good non-dairy yogurts. I tried the silk soy yogurt and really didn't like it. I generally eat greek yogurt because I prefer thick yogurt but I would be willing to give most anything a try.

Any advice would be appreciated!

If you like greek yogurt due to the protein the only non dairy kind that will have appreciable protein is soy. I haven't tried any of them so can't say if any are tasty, though.

So Delicious makes a Greek style yogurt (coconut based) and I think Daiya does as well (not sure what the base is). I haven't tried either one yet, but I know I really like the regular coconut yogurt that So Delicious makes. Forager almond milk yogurt (which has more limited availability, I think) is really tasty.

I am in the same boat! I have this annoying acne on my cheeks/jawline and I am trying to fix it with diet... I cut out dairy but I LOVE yogurt (well I love all dairy...ESP cheese  ). So I am following your thread and wishing you luck! I have quit smoking and drinking but quitting dairy/cheese has been the hardest of all three!!

Agreed. The cashew milk ones are particularly good.

This has been hard for me but this is the best I've come up with.

I agree the So Delicious coconut yogurt (also, I vouche for their ice cream as well). It's still a bit thin, but I'll dump a bunch of chia seeds in it and then let it sit over night and that thickens it up really well! Then sweeten with some honey or fruit.

I've yet to find a non-dairy yogurt that rivals the thickness and protein count of greek yogurt, but this has at least allowed me some joy in yogurt again without tummy issues.

I only eat dairy free yogurt. The best brand is silk. Not a fan of the ones made of coconut milk. The silk is the best tasting.

I haven't had their yogurt, but their chive cream cheese spread is delicious.

The daiya yogurt has 8 g of protein per serving. It's good imo.

I found that cutting back on yogurt and milk was enough - I still eat cheese and my skin is pretty clear most of the time.

Might be worth just eliminating/switching yogurts for a few weeks and see what happens. If your skin is still not improving, then eliminate the cheese.

Make sure you're well-hydrated as I found that is very helpful, too :)
