Does anyone know the correct calorie count for a cup of cooked oatbran?

I'm not real familiar with oatbran - but I would think the same rule of thumb as pasta/oatmeal applies......weigh the oatbran dry; log that. Water doesn't add any calories. Cooked (firmer) with less water absorption is a higher calorie count per "cup" than oats/pasta with a great deal of water added.

cups aren't a good way of measuring because its variable - you would be better to measure the weight in g (most MFP food entries are for uncooked) - so a cup cooked might be 1/2 cup uncooked (or similar)

Measured dry is 1/4 c at 120 calories. When I measure it cooked is equal to one cup, and Mfp comes up 480 calories cooked in water. Yikes!!

if you measured it out dry at 1/4 of a cup, then that is the calories that you use - not all entries in MFP are correct

I didn't even know you could cook oatbran. I've always just added it to peanut butter and honey sandwiches for a texture.

I really like oat bran as a savory dish (even if I'm having it for breakfast). A little salt, maybe a little pepper if the devil is in me. A pat of butter if I really want to go wild.

I know what I'm having for breakfast tomorrow.

    Mmmm, sounds great!
I almost added an egg myself this morning, then I went with some shaved parmesan instead. And a little butter with the olive oil. So good!
