How do you add people on here?
And 2 miles is awesome! I built my mileage up quickly.
When you finish a 8 mile or higher run and all the good feelings wears off, then it becomes a food battle! I want to eat a lot! And carbs! But I want to drop these last few lbs and be done with it! It is so hard!0 -
Touch the person's name or icon and then do it one more time. You'll see a symbol of a silhouette with a plus sign. Touch that, and that will send the person a friend request.1

Been running for 30 years. Also love trail running. Add me if you want to talk running!1

I've started running at the beginning of this year, I had a lot of injuries/illnesses ( not running related, silly things like falling of stairs, or getting kicked by a horse, or just getting really bad flu) this year so I would get to a decent fitness and then get injured and after recovering I'd have to build it all back up. This happened about six times this year. The only reason I stuck with it is because I had promised myself to go run the november 4 mile race in Groningen ( the Netherlands) where I live. Which I did, and I even beat my own PR on it! I took a break from running for a month to recuperate and focus on my education. Now I'm at it again, started december 1st. This winter is all about base building for me. Just running, no matter how fast or how far. I just set a time on my running app (I use nike) and run until it tells me to stop.
Next year I want to enter more races. I really loved my first race and I'm anxious for more! I got the bug!
I'm nowhere near the mileage you guys log. I run about 2,5-3,5K per run at the moment, which is about 2 miles per run at the most, but that's fine for now. I'll slowly build it up this winter, no rush. The real work won't start till next spring, when I'll be looking for races to enter and to train for.1 -
Just did my first 5k over the weekend! I just started running in late September, and signed up for a Santa Run, full Santa suit. It was a riot! I finished in 37:06! I impressed myself with that time considering I ended up walking a half-mile and my previous treadmill best was 41 minutes!
I'm heading to AZ for a month and plan on doing some trail runs...starting slow, but gotta start somewhere!3 -
I run daily. 15-20 miles. I could always use more friends who enjoy running. Please feel free to add me.1

I'm a runner- I've done several half marathons but pretty much now stick to 10K's or 5K's. I'm running the Cooper River Bridge Run in Charleston next spring as my next major race, with a few 5K races before that.1

Me too! I will be in charleston April to run the race! I cannot wait!0

How do you guys train for an ultra? I'm spent by mile 11.....you must be superhuman!
I think everyone on here is awesome! Definitely seeing everyone's mileage keeps me motivated to step my game up with my running! My fastest mile was right under 7 minutes but my steady pace is 9 sometimes 10 minute miles!
I have fallen 3 times, had my arm stitched up, broke one phone, encountered the same snake 2 separate times, been stung by wasps on my booty, and had a pack of at least 20 ducks fly into me while running! But nothing compares to the high I get and the great way I feel after a long run!0 -
I've only just started running in the evenings after work.
I really enjoy it but got a long way to go before trying to run in a marathon/race.
You guys that can run 15-20 miles are fantastic and hopefully I'll be writing that one day
I used to be one of those "running, what's the point" people but now I'm a total convert.
I love getting out and working up sweat and feel a real sense of achievement at the end.2 -
Hey all I use fitbit. If you do add me at stvrod7@gmail.com1

I am a huge runner! You're weight my be increasing because you aren't eating enough calories. Do you use a fitness tracker? I would start recording your calories and make sure you aren't too deficient.1

I love to run but for some reason I don't do it very often ?!?! Has anyone experienced this weirdness, it's like I can't get motivated to do it even though I love it a lot.2

I feel that some days but once I hit the pavement I am like oh yeah I am so glad I made myself go running!
Brittany I was eating too much! I started tracking a couple of weeks ago and I eat to maintain. So I have once again cut back on my calories. It is hard during this time of year! I lost 26 lbs since February but these last 15 lbs that I want to drop are being stubborn. I have lost 5 lbs in 15 days so I am assuming i am on the right track.

I want to purchase a fit bit but my local friends say it made them lose motivation.
So I just use mile markers to know my mileage and my iPhone to time!

@WickAndArtoo
I've had that problem for the last 13 years. My training was spot on for the Naha Marathon.1 week out I got immense hammy pain. Still did the race, but my running has never been the same-lack almost all motivation for it. I do it, but it's just not the same1
