Food Calorie Websites

I am having a hard time finding a website to find out the nutritional information for fruits and veggies. I need this information to weight the item and enter it into the system. Can anyone help?

I'm assuming you've checked the MFP database already and aren't finding what you're looking for? For fruits and veggies I usually go with the USDA entries.

I am looking on the https://ndb.nal.usda.gov/ndb/search/list and I looked up advoco.

My food scale says it weights 36 grams

I am not sure how to work the site. It is showing values per 100 grams. Also, I cannot find the calorie amount.

36 grams is .36 of 100. In the column that says "Value per 100 g", change the 1 to .36 and then hit tab and the numbers below will adjust for you. "Energy" is calories on that table.

I usually refer to the USDA database to make sure I have an accurate entry, but I would just search for "USDA, avocado" and log the grams. The next time you log it, it will automatically populate so you don't have to worry about choosing the incorrect entry.

I usually copy the way it's listed in the USDA entry and make sure it has lots of value options, including 100 g (which is by far the easiest one to use). Searching for the item and USDA is my second choice, but those are user entered (although usually accurately), and the ones with the same wording but without USDA are the MFP-entered ones and are the most likely to consistently have all the value options.

Agreed that once you use it it's easy because it's there for you in your recents.
