I hate shopping during XMAS

I ordered a Mini Launchpad for my DD for Xmas. As of last night, the delivery still hadn't arrived even though Amazon approximated it by 8pm. Checked the email and they apologized and stated it would be delivered with the next day or so.
Checked the email this morning and Amazon stated it was delivered last night in my mailbox. Of course when checking my mailbox, it wasn't there. I didn't think it would fit in the mailbox anyway and can't figure out why USPS didn't just knock on my door (lights were on and you can see the TV on through my front window), but apparently the ONLY thing I can do is put in a claim and be contacted 2-3 business days. Which means I'm not getting my DD's XMAS present by XMAS.

I ordered gifts on amazon for the first time this year. Had them sent to my parents house and told them not to open. Hopefully they're right. It was so much easier.

I still have to go to this today for some other family members. It's cool but after you've live in NYC for so long the charm wears off and I want to be a grinch to everyone in my way.

Ordering online.. while it could take longer than they project is still 1,000 times better than going anywhere near a mall this time of year. ugh.

I hate doing regular shopping at this time of year, I end up putting things off as a result. But I guess that means less money spent!

Sorry to hear she won't get it on Christmas, but hopefully she appreciates it when it arrives. Maybe you can make a fake one for her ;-)

Last year they delivered mine next door, did not get it till the next day, cause my neighbors were to lazy to walk it over..Who's fault was that?

Get creative, cause now she is going to get two gifts right? She will still appreciate it just as much as if it were under the tree..

Ordered gifts online. Still waiting on a three things to be delivered. There is at least one thing for everyone under the tree though so it won't be as awkward if they don't get here by the day.

I have 2 rules, to prevent this:

1 shop online, Black Friday and/or Cyber Monday (for Christmas)!

2 if waiting to shop, until December or within a month, of someone's birthday, etc., only purchase digital gifts!

Something like that happened to me the other day... it said it was delivered by USPS, and it wasn't... but it showed up with the USPS truck the next day.

Don't lose hope yet. Keep us posted!

This is why I go to the actual store. Gets me some exercise because I walk to the stores instead of sitting in front of a computer.

I get it shipped to the store. Fastest way ever. Amazon cannot deliver at great speed now, there is a pile of snow everywhere.

I use to love shopping, in malls but my health, even requires me; to have my groceries currently delivered lol!

I did a lot of online shopping for myself this year....

All my Christmas shopping was done at the mall though and I got it done last month so it was no hassle

We've had a huge problem in my city this year with thieves stealing packages left on the front porch...I had one stolen a couple of weeks ago...fortunately, it was only my monthly shipment of V8 from Amazon...at least those thieves will get some nutrition...

I have night vision & with audio, security cameras; in full view not hidden! Is it aesthetically appealing? No but it prevents me from having something stolen 1st & then having to drag them, into court! My goal's to prevent, the crime; not capture it! So that's why I don't understand, why people hide; their cameras because most people won't steal, to begin with; if they see cameras!

Not sold in any stores nearby and places that can get it had a 2 week waiting time for delivery to their store (not guaranteed).

There can be a weird thing with Amazon whereby the status is Delivered but it doesn't actually get delivered until the next day. I think this has to do when they use both FedEx or UPS and the USPS.

    Any luck today?

My internet orders are running really, really behind. Prime will "guarantee " 2 day delivery, which is a bunch of crap because it gets here when it gets here. I buy online most the time anyways, because shopping is le suck.

So the good news.............I got the package. My neighbor had it. What miffs me about it is that there are only 2 houses on our court and the numbers are DISTINCTLY displayed on each house. Not to mention USPS delivers mail everyday so how could the get it wrong between just 2 houses?
I did have to go out and do a lot of head hunting though. From calling Amazon to USPS (several times). At least Amazon was willing to send me a new one so that it arrived for Xmas. I just got off the phone with them letting them know that they didn't have to do that anymore and that I was happy with the way they provided me great customer service. They were willing to bite the bullet so I got the gift.
USPS on the other hand...........they said they would call me back and didn't (I called them to find status). I actually met up with our mailman and he said he was off yesterday and that he wasn't sure who did the route. Then the Postal Annex gave me some BS that whoever dropped off the package scanned it on the adjoining street which maybe why they dropped it off at my neighbor's house, but I don't buy that because her house address and mine are in the court. I spoke to the supervisor and just let him know that he may want to go over with the employees about ensuring they are delivering packages to the right homes or they are going to have more pissed off customers. In other words, no one bothered to take blame or gave me any real solution.
But I'm happy now and my DD will be too when she open's it on Xmas.

I've never had a problem with Prime (till this one anyway). Not to mention, Amazon did their part. USPS is who screwed up here.

When do you celebrate Christmas in Canada?

Y'all got the timing on Thanksgiving all twisted up, I thinking that Christmas might present a similar challenge.

    Glad you got your package!

I got some issues with Prime in the past, always before Christmas, but their customer is great and they always sent me the item again (and both times the lost package actually ended up showing up and I ended up with two of the items).
