10 pounds a month seems extreme for a female. Everybody...please be careful.
Yes, thank you for saying this. That might be fine and easy in the beginning stages when there is a lot of weight to be lost.. but there's just no way someone who isn't obese can safely continue losing 10lbs a month.7 -
I would love to be another 50lbs down in 5 months.
I have about 110 left to my big goal, but I'm all for making smaller goals.2 -

2.5 pounds a week isn't really that aggressive for an obese individual. Say someone with 200 pounds to lose. It wouldn't be advisable though for someone who only had 50 to lose. It would require some extreme measures. While I wasn't quite at 200 I topped out around 187ish. I have lost 37 pounds over the course of the past maybe 9 months. Some weeks I lost two pounds in the beginning. As I went I had times where I lost a pound only every 2 weeks. This was while sticking to the 1,400 calorie goal set by MFP for a 1 pound a week loss.2

Add me! I lost 85 pounds in 2006. I was motivated by a great sadness and trying to turn it around into a positive. I stayed consistently on track and treated it like a "job". Now I have about 30 to loose. My only motivation right now is I am down to one pair of pants that fit. I would never wish a great sadness on myself or anyone, but man, I am not sure how to really stick to it nowadays...1

For those who think it is losing too fast, maybe not.
Let's assume most put on holiday water weight, so 5-10 come off quick then you work on the rest over the next 22 weeks. Comes out to a little over 2 lbs a week, this is possible.1 -

I am really pleased with Myself, stuck to My regime throughout the holiday and managed to move another 3lb's off..what a wonderful wake up that is.

HI everyone. I've been off and on my fitness pal for years. But I'm hoping now I can remain consistent with this system! I had my 3rd child 2 years ago and am now at my heaviest of 209lbs. So when I saw losing 50lbs in this group I'm all for it to give it a good honest try and hopefully help support others as well.1
