Today marks 10 months since I made the decision to change the way I live my life, to replace my unhealthy habits (laziness and gluttony) with regular exercise and proper nutrition (in healthy portions).

In that time, I have lost over 95 pounds and more than 77 inches!

In turn, I have also gained some things: good health, confidence, and the knowledge that I am setting a positive example for my family and friends. :)

I don’t have any “secret” formula – I just eat nutritious, well balanced meals and snacks (whole grains, fresh fruits and veggies, lean proteins, and healthy fats), drink lots of water, and exercise regularly. I do a lot of walking and do Zumba 2 or 3 times a week because those are things I enjoy. I do some strength training but only in a class setting (Bums & Tums or Muscle Pump) because otherwise it is too boring. Basically, it’s just a matter of developing and maintaining a healthy, active lifestyle.

Here are some of my stats (I am 5'10" with a very large bone structure, by the way)–

************WEIGHT************
Starting: 280.0 pounds / Current: 184.4 pounds
**Loss: 95.6 pounds

*********MEASUREMENTS*********
Starting Hip: 54.0 inches / Current Hip: 40.5 inches
**Loss: 13.5 inches

Starting Thigh: 32.0 inches / Current Thigh: 22.5 inches
**Loss: 9.5 inches each, total 19.0 inches

Starting Calf: 19.5 inches / Current Calf: 15.75 inches
**Loss: 3.75 inches each, total 7.5 inches

Starting Waist: 45.5 inches / Current Waist: 29.25 inches
**Loss: 16.25 inches

Starting Chest: 51.0 inches / Current Chest: 41.0 inches
**Loss: 10.0 inches

Starting Upper Arm: 16.0 inches / Current Upper Arm: 11.5 inches
**Loss: 4.5 inches each, total 9.0 inches

Starting Neck: 15.5 inches / Current Neck: 13.0 inches
**Loss: 2.5 inches

****TOTAL INCHES LOST: 77.75 inches

I am so grateful for the support and encouragement I've received on here.

• I've lost 94.4 pounds and 77.25 inches all over.
• I've gone from having two chins and to having only one (rather pointy) chin.
• I’ve gone from having cankles to muscular calves and actual ankles.
• I have collarbones!!!!! And calf muscles!!!! And a ribcage!!!! And other bones no longer hidden by blubber!
• I've gone from a size 24W in pants to a tight 12 or a baggy 14.
• I've gone from XXL shirts to Small.
• I've gone from a BMI of 40.2 to a BMI of 26.5
• I’ve gone from having over 55% body fat to having about 26.5% body fat
• My resting heart rate has gone from 110+ (way too high) to about 55 (very healthy)

Thank you myfitnesspal!

My motto: Every choice you make in how you move your body and what you feed your body is important because it means that you are either taking one step closer to good health or one step further away.

Great job!!! You give me such hope because our starting weights are about the same, but based on your BMI I'm guessing you're taller than I am. You look fabulous! And I love the dress in the last set of pics...
