I actually have 3 Labrador retrievers and a Silky Terrier.
I badly want to get a Staffordshire Bull Terrier but pit bull breeds aren't allowed where I'm from so in about 5 years I plan on getting a German shepherd in stead.
Dogs are the best
When you say 'pit bull breeds' do you mean any dog that could get *confused* with a pit bull or did you mean bull breeds ie staffies, English bull terriers, Bull mastiffs etc.
Only asking as I have heard of a few staffies mistakingly referred to as pits and although similar, dimensions are different. That is what tends to save the life of those who are staffies from those who have elements of american pit bull in them when they're in rescue homes and identified by a specific dog unit here in the UK. But interested in laws in other places. I love them all regardless. I think banned breeds is a ridiculous thing. Onus should be on the damn owner.1 -

Probably... yet so many owners do not do dog training with their dog and then let them off lead or do not enclose them properly in the interest of safety for both small children and smaller dogs.
How many times do you hear of a dog attacking a child in the childs own yard or a dog getting away from its owner and attacking a small dog... happened to my sister in laws dog and Buddy died a terrible death.
It is the manner of these dogs breeds bite that close and lock onto a smaller dogs leg.. or whatever.. which is why they have been restricted in some countries including Australia

Havanese. Not a guard dog but full of love and great with kids! Hypoallergenic and no shedding. Easy to train.

I've got a yellow lab boy as well. He's an idot... Worst trained dog ever, can't even get him to walk on a leash or sit or do any dog stuff. This guy is my Marley...

Haha cheers @12dream
He's lovely really but he's not very smart lol. Makes me laugh alot, specially when he believes he's a pointer and tries to hunt wild gooses.. Then they get pissed and hiss at him and that little tiny dog yelps and runs away hiding behind me or the big dogs..

My girl Lady, who turns 18 this year. She's a whippet terrier mutt of some sort.
My big boy Bo who just turned 3. He's a red-nosed pit, yellow lab, and we're not sure what else.
My best dogs have all been mutts. I'd love a german shepherd BUT don't know that I could handle the longer fur with my allergies.
