It has been 5 years since I threw away the cigarettes for good cold turkey as they say! It is a wonderful feeling to know I have accomplished this goal. I hope to achieve many more this year! Good luck to everyone. We can do this! Rah Rah Rah!

This August 17, will be 17 years for me. I'm so thankful for the DR. that took the time to make his advice personal to me!
I'm sure he didn't believe me but the last cigarette I smoked was before I walked in his office.5 -
Today is day 3 for me! Wish me luck!15

A great support for quitting smoking is whyquit.com. It will be 7 years for me in 2 days.10

Awesome!!! I'm at 5.5 years smoke free myself and couldn't be happier about it9

Congrats! Will be 14 years for me in April. For those just staring the journey, as posted before, whyquit.com was a great help to me as well.7

That's awesome! I've never been a smoker but I hear it's a rough vice to shake so good on you for sticking to it5

Good for you. I quit 19 years ago when I found out I was gonna be a grampa for the first time. I honestly believe that battle was tougher than than Nam. Be proud!!8

Fantastic! It's been 7 months for me, I'll never put another one to my lips. This is the last time I quit smoking.6

Congrats! Jan 1st marked 4 years for me6

Congrats! I quit in June last year, though had a few slip ups over the xmas period. Still using nicotine lozenges which I'm planning to quit at the end of this month - I'm hoping it wont be too hard.5
-
Not easy. 12 years here and I still want one.6

Not sure exactly but the last time I quit was about 11 years ago. Ironically I was just thinking about it this morning. To those that are trying, just keep trying. I quit 4 times before I quit quitting. Best thing I ever did for myself. Especially if you are also battling a weight/health issue.4

I agree. And the same advice goes for losing weight. Every time you quit you get a little bit better at it - and every time you try to change any other habits you learn what works and what doesn't.3 -
Love a smoke when drinking.

I know a lot of people that do... but that's not so supportive when someone is trying to quit!!
@IWTBFCIN3, kudos to you. I am not a smoker, but know many people who are and who have quit. Keep fighting on. You can do this!2 -

Groovy! I am right behind you with 4.5 years. I celebrate 5 years at the end of May.3 -
Outstanding job! I quit cold turkey as well 4 years ago on Dec 24th. This was one of the best things I ever did for me, myself and I! And for those of you fighting for it, I know how hard it is, but your already one step closer! You can do it!!3

Wonderful and congratulations. It's such a tough habit to kick3

Congrats! It will be 4 years for me this March!3

4 and 1/2 years for me and could never see myself doing it much less going back. Cold turkey for me also. Anyone trying to quit it's not easy. Somehow I got lucky will willpower or something. I put my mind into something else. Something that was going to be way more fun and long term and it worked.3

I started when I was 13 years. Probably my first serious attempt to quit was made when I was 19-20 years old. Thirty years later I finally made it!5

Well done, I quit 5 years ago September gone, used the tablets for the 1 st month and then I was on my own, it's not easy and I still go out 'for fresh air' when I'm having a few drinks but I know if I had a puff I'd be straight back on them1
