Fitbit Negative Adjustment

So I have this set but am trying to tone done my exercise (I'm developing/have developed exercise bulimia and it's taken over my life essentially). I wake up, try and plan my day but I see a negative figure because I no longer want to wake up at 3am each day exercising. But when I see that negative number it discourages me and makes me feel I have to exercise again just to get a positive high number.

So what is the point of it? It feels just discouraging to me, am I reading it wrong?

I have the same confusion. Also I can't always get my Fitbit to register with my fitness pal. Hope someone has the answer.

I have MFP set to Sedentary and have enabled negative adjustments. When I wake up every day, I have negative Calories earned, because I have been sleeping. I just don't bother to check it anymore until about noon, because by then, it normally turns positive just from me moving around. If I am in bed all day sick, the negative adjustments help me plan my day so that I don't overeat.

Please read through these MFP articles on how negative adjustments for all-day trackers work.

I thought you could just turn that feature off. Sounds like that would work better for you to not have it enabled.

Maybe but there must be a reason to have it, I am just struggling to now think of it so feel I am missing something

I dont have mine enabled and it makes it that much less stressful.but thats just me. There are days Im too tired to become really active so without them enabled I dont have to worry and I have lost weight just fine

May be worth switching off, especially if I am trying to change my mindset. Just feels like there is a point to it but I'm not sure what
