I've noticed that my core seems to be extremely weak. I've worked out some in the past, but I stopped and now im pretty much back to complete beginner.

What are some exercises I can do that will strengthen my core? I'd like to work on just my core for a little bit before I even start on anywhere else.

I prefer body weight exercises. I don't have access to a gym, but I do have a decent collection of Dumbbells if they are necessary.

Emphasis on planks. Planks are beautiful.

Additionally, I would not recommend working your core exclusively. Work all your body parts, as different exercises will rely on your core as well (squats, deadlifts, military press, etc.) Do not be afraid to go down in weight if your core is not strong enough to properly perform an exercise. Regardless of weight, your form is vital to performing a workout.

Your core will get stronger with additional core workouts, as will many other muscles. Just be sure to work all your muscles, even if one set of muscles is weaker than the rest.
