Doomed to YO-yo forever!!!! HELP!!!

I feel as if I am doomed to have my weight yo-yo forever. I started off this year (I know its only one week in) good. I tracked what |I at the first few days and even started a couch25K program, or which I did 2 days. I had a bad couple of days and now I am struggling to find the motivation to even want to try again.
You see I have recently learned, like November, that I struggle with depression. And apparently have for some time now. Which explains explosions I have had with my children and wife(I do not get physical). This all came to light when a couple of big crisis hit me hard. One being a disappointment at work. A promotion I was aiming for believing I was on my way to obtain was given to someone else. It was really through that let down and how it effected me that I realized something more was going on. |I began to seek help. Then in early Dec. my mother passed away that pulled me away from continuing with my therapist, which I only went once. I am going back to therapist this wed. I hope it helps. This is all different for me, and I am not sure why I am sharing this on here. I went from thinking I was rising above it all at the beginning of the new year to having 2 incredible low day to now just feeling numb about everything.
Not sure if anyone out there can relate or has experienced this, but any help would be appreciated. Or even just a friend.

I think visiting your therapist regularly would be the best thing for you. A couple days of poor decisions doesn't need to be a couple years of bag decisions. You messed up, you owned up, now man up and do better tomorrow. Seems like you are facing some challenging situations right now but maybe a therapist would help you work through your feelings.0

I have a journal, I write and doodle in it daily. It really helps me express myself when I don't feel I can talk to anyone (or I don't feel like I'm being understood). Sometimes you have to put it out into the universe so it can get out of your head. And using a journal means you won't take it out on someone you love or take it out with what you eat!
You are doing great, and going to a therapist is such an amazing decision! I don't know you but I am proud of you! Good luck!0 -
I definitely understand the hopeless feeling of the yo-yo dieting/fitness plan. The high feeling of being on track and even starting to take off a few pounds then the real struggle when you've fallen off course and lost the motivation to pick yourself up. For myself, I sabotage myself over and over with the negative self-talk. I can go for weeks staying on track with exercising and clean eating but a little slip and it is a downhill spiral. I find if I can get up and just get going with exercise before I can start any of the negative talk then not only do I get the workout in but I tend to eat better during the day.
I think writing down and tracking your food intake will help with your success. Tracking everyday is ideal but if you miss a day or two and then get back to tracking your food it isn't a loss just part of your journey. I am a very black and white/all or nothing type of person, so this balance is something I am trying to remember and work through. It is easy to toss in the towel and become discouraged after setbacks of a few bad days but you are still ahead of the game had you never started down the road to better eating and health to begin with.
I'm sorry to hear of the loss of your mother and disappointment at work, I can see how this could affect your motivation. However, exercising and better eating could help you move through this difficult time. I wish you the best of luck!

Getting set up with your therapist is an amazing idea to expand your tool box of support to kick depression in the u know what. I would say that the next best thing is to capitalize on the support system you have at home and any additional services i.e. myfitpal. I use to feel as though I was always gonna be the pretty for a big girl person...until I began to alter my way of thinking. Let's focus on one day or minute at a time. You will mess up, you will have plateaus, but you know what...your successes will be right around the corner waiting to bounce back after every plateau and feeling of doubt. Hang in there my friend...yo yo is not your destiny0
