Guess I better take a nap...I was going to hit the gym this afternoon for a heavy session...but sounds like a nap is the way to go since I only slept once last night.6
-
Ha.
That comes out to about 20 hours of sleep. It's funny because I often think about how my dogs spend around 20 hours a day in some form of rest and are in great shape.4 -
With 3 kids and a dog, sleep sadly isnt what it should be! Correct though, too little sleep can release cortisol which in turn can inhibit fat loss. But aye, calorie deficit.2
-
So calories don't come in at all? Just napping and the gym??3

Sleep 80% of the time? Well I'm in trouble.3

I think the real lesson here is that the key to weight loss isn't CICO, it's STET - Sleeping Time>Eating Time
More time sleeping means less time for eating5 -

But there's only 2 things you listed and one is gym time.0 -
Oh noes... guess I did it wrong since mine was more like 10% sleep2
-
I see what you guys are saying well let me put it like this illuminate diet and sleep focus from trying to achieve your goals and let's say put 80% of your time and effort into gym time and only 10% into sleep and 10% into diet and see what happenes.... Am I right or am I right? Percentages a.k.a time sorry I explained it a little different0
-
No, you're NOT right.

But diet isn't even in your list. You have sleep and gym only. 80% sleep, 20% gym.1 -

Did you mean to have "Eating" as the first 40%?2 -

Nope, it works itself out, right? I mean, if you're sleeping 80% of the time and at the gym the other 20%, there's no time to eat, no?4 -

Even if one of those sleeps was meant to say diet I still don't understand the percentages. Is it meant to be amount of time in the day? Percent of our effort we focus on those things?

I don't think so either. Then we could focus on the percentages, rather than sleeping all the time. :laugh:4 -
OP, we get you, but you made a typo!!!!
We all know sleep is important. You just mentioned it twice.1 -

I don't agree with your percentage values, mainly because with regular exercise, my sleeping improves all by itself. I do think that rest, relaxation, and keeping a healthy mental space is valuable. So I would expand sleep to include overall well being which includes behaviours not included in the other two.1 -
So I should sleep 9 and a half hours, spend 9 and a half hours eating and the remaining 5 hours working out?
I'm sure there's a great thought in there somewhere, OP, but I'm not quite getting it.1
