A ketogenic diet is quite simply any diet that forces the body into a process called ketosis, whereby fats are burned instead of carbohydrates for use as energy. A proper ketogenic diet calls for the dieter to consume high amounts of fat, adequate amounts of protein, and very low amounts of carbohydrates.1 -

Hey there! I have loved living a low carb lifestyle for awhile but my Dr. recommended the keto diet. He said I need to adjust my macros that I am eating too much protein. He said it can actually turn into sugar causing even more inflammation...ugh! So here I am, on day 1 and it is going AMAZING! I am not hungry at all, exercised, and getting in my water intake. I would love to have some like-minded support on here. If you are also looking for that, Add Me!

There is a great group (LCHF) to join where a lot of people are doing ketogenic diets; I've been researching different macronutrients and lifestyle eating options for the past few months before deciding upon sucrose free ketogenic for both optimal brain and body health.3

I have been doing it 4 months now and lost only 26 lbs and over 10 inches, I find it holding myself in ketosis after being very strict for 7 years before starting it. But I upped my exercise this month so I hope to improve.1

Try intermittent fasting - start with a 16/8 ratio (i.e only eat between say 10am and 6PM( and move towards a 18/6 ratio (12 till 6) - this will help your body burn up any glycogen you introduce in your diet and get your body producing ketones for longer throughout the day and as you sleep.2
