Sounds about right. It'll get lower as you lose weight.

That sounds reasonable to me as a starting point. Keep in mind that any calorie goal given to you is an estimate. Eat at that level for 3-4 weeks and then adjust upward or downward based on progress.

Sounds about right. I'm almost 42, 5'9, and 177 lbs and I'm losing on 1960 calories a day.

As you lose, you'll need to re-figure your calories. The amount you can eat will drop as your weight drops.

When I started, I was 235 (I'm 5'4 1/2") and I ate 1500-1800 calories a day. I lost 105 lbs in about a year and a half with that method. I also exercised about 6 days a week and didn't eat back my calories.

I suggest keeping it high as long as you're losing, you'll need to lower it as you begin to weigh less. This way you won't be starving when you lower your calorie intake to continue losing. Does that make sense?

Hi there, I just came on here to ask the same question. I'm allowed just over 1700, that seems like a hell of a lot. Although I'm able to easily eat them all and could happily go over but I imagined I'd be eating about 1200! I thought I'd signed up to a hard slog of hunger but this seems a bit too good to be true
